(UK Upgrade)4.1.2 Available

looking on sam mobile it seems to be just unbranded and vodafone so far. Wonder how long it'll take 3?!
 
I got mine on contract through EE but since I got it from the carphone warehouse its unlocked. OTA was showing busy message so went with Kies. Kies upgraded and showed my phone as a Galaxy S. Rebooted laptop and phone and this time it connected as an S3 and did the firmware upgrade. Took about 15 minutes but no problems. I like the split screen.
 
Been trying to update all morning.

I get the cheerful message:

"Access to the software update is provided to users blah blah blah blah. Try later".

Thanks Samsung. You're the best lol

SIM free and unbranded S3.

Yes thats the message I got but connect via Kies and it will upgrade, it was the same when JB arrived

All CPW phones are unlocked. However this is SIM unlocked and just means you can put any SIM in it. Be careful not to confuse unlocked with unbranded. That is the real key here.

All CPW phones are also unbranded. Unbranded means it has no carrier / operator build of Android on there so the updates can come directly from Samsung.

Carrier Branded handsets often get their updates later as Samsung push it to the Carrier and they add their "crap" however, UK Carriers got it out before Samsung last time (4.1.1) - I assume Samsung were busy in other regions.

Anyway, been using 4.1.2 for a few weeks. Enjoy Multi Window :)
 
I use it a lot. If I'm typing something and just need to check a fact or a spelling, its great for that. Or to do some calculations quickly whilst typing.

Yeah it's mainly typing + referencing for me, but hey, Its a use!
 
That's basically the same use I do. SUroot, did you use any mod to allow other applications as well to work with the Multi Window feature? If yes, which one?
 
Try resetting, it might solve the issues. I am using 4.1.2 since last week and it works perfectly, no issues with battery if either.
