Help Turning off 'Droid' sound

My phone just stays in vibrate 24-7.

The MP3 file is located here and you can just rename or delete it to silence the phone. This would require root though

/system/customize/resource

Tried it with Root Explorer and the message says "system file, read only". I can't change the permissions or properties to RW.

Help?

Is root explorer giving you an error when you try to change the permissions?

A warning comes up that says "VZW_Droid.mp3 permissions cannot be changed because the file is read-only"

I am running the "Liberation_v3.0_-_HTC_Droid_Incredible" ROM.

Root Explorer is v2.21.1

I mean when it root explorer, are you checking the option to set the system folder to r/w ?

Oops! I didn't see that option button. Set it and renamed the file. It's working fine now.
