This annoys me, too. How will it work with docking stations, etc? Especially if there is no landscape for the homescreen? (I've read that in other posts on this forum, but don't know if it's correct).
The same way it works for the Droid? it has it's USB on the side and still has a docking station.

Well BIG thanks to NKT!!! you did an awesome job once again!!!!
you said you had more info, cant wait to see what else you got for this phone!!!

You popped my user guide cherry! never looked through one before! :D lol

I am newbie here just excited for the HTC incredible and have never owned a smart phone. I know it probably has been asked, but does android multi task etc? Anyone know if this phone will have the verizon backup assistant? Storm just got that!

The guide mentions how to setup backup assistant on page 198...

Wow...I actually answered a question instead of just sitting here ogling all the info others provide. Go me!

First time poster...long time reader of Phandroid (not the forums) and usually respond to articles as Phil. This UG finally dragged me into the forum.

Now I'm watching the ever so anticlimatic live blog of the iJoke 4.0. Its been hilarious because it really looks like they are copying Android now. Did Google patent folders on a mobile device or dragging and dropping app icons? LMAO

guess they decided to copy successful ideas.

not to go off topic, but even blackberry has folders for apps.

on topic - i have finished skimming through the user guide, but all it does is make me want the phone more! unless i completely read the thing front to back, i dont think it is helping to alleviate the pain

Maybe its like the Droid. Putting it in the desktop cradle changes the mode to the desktop clock which might work in landscape mode.

Thanks for the jump . . .I couldn't do the Adobe upgrade at work so that helped me alot. Now it's time to read and pretend like I'm studying a work manual. NO MORE WORK GETTING DONE TODAY!!! HEY!!!

Advertising = $$ = incentive to develop good apps... it's not all about the user.
Oh, I get why they did it. I just sold my stock thinking the iPad wouldn't be as big as it got, but I made some money. Now I regret selling so early, as this is just more cash in their pocket. Either way, as a user, it's LAME!

Thanks Anonimac!

I was hoping to see more detailed specs at the end, one being if it has a second noise canceling microphone, like the N1 and video details, an HDMI out would have been nice as well (EVO!). Other than that, the Incredible seems to be the phone to go with if your on verizon. N1 is a close second!

I wonder if verizon plans to create a phone that would compete with the EVO? I would love that phone.

Was there some other confirmation besides the photo's from the test phones? Because that it not necessarily confirmation as by their very nature test phones can change from the launch phones.
Hopefully there is internal storage as the manual also said no Micro SD card:
"Store your pictures, music, and applications in the microSD card (sold separately)." (pg17)

Zaggs -I am actually responding to the same post you are about the 8gb "vapor" rom.

Ahhh! The "manual" is wrong ;) Do any of you folks appreciate how expensive 8gb of rom is? N900 has 32gb, but only 1gb is fast rom and the rest is standard "class 2" level storage memory.

It would be great if the device had 8gb of rom- but the only chance is if it is actually built-in storage space (still better than nothing). People that believe this device has 8gb of rom space are the same eternal optimists that stood on the roof to greet the aliens in Independance Day ;)

Instead of a laser of doom, the cold reality of actually getting the device and not having the rom space will be the impact

I believe the Droid has a Magnetometer and that is how the docking stations function, through contact of magnets in a specific location on the dock that come into contact with those on the phone.

I don't ever recall hearing that the Incredible would have this feature. I'm sure you'll just have to manually enter into Car Mode and things of that nature as opposed to it automatically switching when placed into the doc.

11:08AM Q: But what about Pandora? A: (Jobs) I don't think you're right. It doesn't use that much data.

11:07AM Q: Given that multitasking will increase data usage, how do you think AT&T will handle that? A: (Jobs) I'm not sure that's a correct assumption.

LMFAO- Steve Jobs caught on the ropes!

You only found out about the feature with the Droid when the docks came out. Who knows, maybe it will maybe it wont.
