I'm glad you mentioned this...and before this gets completely out of hand...let me assure EVERYONE that this phone 100% absolutely has the 8 GB in internal memory. I have other, more authoritative, documentation that states this so please lets not run away with this one detail for pages...it's there!

If true, let us hope the manual also was screwed up and HTC / Verizon failed to mention Adobe Flash copyrights at the beginning of the manual (as legally required to do). Still, people here are confusing storage with rom. Huge difference as far as app space (need rom space for this- not storage- for most apps).

Darn! Unless Verizon marketing are complete rubes, looks like Desire has Flash Lite and Incredibly Lame does not (I call it that now, since no Flash... at least until we see a Desire rom after rooting).

BTW, I respectfully doubt that HTC omitted the 8gb space (ie, there probably is none, unless the manual was put together by a marketing intern).

I just got news from a very credible Verizon Major Account Manager that there is No ETA yet on the release from the Verizon side. Atleast the guy didnt say that the phone does not exist!

Wow! I just read in the UG that I can use this phone as a modem for my computer. AWSOME! Now I can get rid of my mobile usb device and cancel that $60 per month! Will use the Incredible mostly but still will be nice to know I can hook up the laptop if needed. :d

Looks like Steve Jobs is playing catch up to Android (maps, multi-tasking, etc.) Competition is good. Me? I like Android. I use google voice and want the app for it on my cellphone, I don't want to have to get around Apple's locking it out by using a web app. I like freedom and not to be unduly controlled. (notice I said unduly, having been married 30 years) ;)

Its been confirmed to have 8GB built in. The manual is wrong.

Was there some other confirmation besides the photo's from the test phones? Because that it not necessarily confirmation as by their very nature test phones can change from the launch phones.
Hopefully there is internal storage as the manual also said no Micro SD card:
"Store your pictures, music, and applications in the microSD card (sold separately)." (pg17)

grrr, will def be my next phone only gripe is the usb on the side wtf? ah well cant wait for this!!

it wouldn't be so bad if sense had landscape orientation. actually the cable position will make typing easier when the phone charges.

Who's want to see a commercial while on their phone!?!?!?!?!

FAIL!

Seriously, this is just Apple's way of making more money. They went..."Hey, developers are making money off of free apps....why didn't WE think of that?!"

*Steve Jobs then proceeds to fire the entire Apple marketing department*

**This is also why the Mac vs PC ads will be ending ;)

Maybe a quick google search would be faster than waiting for someone that wants to answer your questions :D;)

Cool! Great, thanks. Learn something new every day. I had no idea it was there, nor anything else on the long tap menu of the home screen.

This annoys me, too. How will it work with docking stations, etc? Especially if there is no landscape for the homescreen? (I've read that in other posts on this forum, but don't know if it's correct).

Think of it like this. If you had the USB port on the end, how would you use it in a car dock and charge it at the same time? Well you could but it would be more difficult as it is now the USB port would be facing down to make plugging in the USB charger easier.

First time poster...long time reader of Phandroid (not the forums) and usually respond to articles as Phil. This UG finally dragged me into the forum.

Now I'm watching the ever so anticlimatic live blog of the iJoke 4.0. Its been hilarious because it really looks like they are copying Android now. Did Google patent folders on a mobile device or dragging and dropping app icons? LMAO
