i loved to use meebo but i havent in a long time
megaupload was so convinient but i never had an account
and metro isnt dead yet
 
Over Here(Scotland) We Have A Tonic Wine Called BuckFast, Which Is Often Drunk By Youths(We Call Them Neds!), This Is Always Shortened To Bucky, So I Found Bucky Balls Quite Amusing!

I Also Did A Quick Amazon Search, And There Are Loads Of Them Available On Amazon.co.uk!

Agree do I. There are plenty of Bucky Balls available. Lots of manufacturers offering replacements they do not call Bucky Balls.

Just be careful. I would hate to see your HDD erased. Perhaps we should require a cuation label? "Warning: this person might be carrying Bucky Balls so do not let him use your laptop."
 
Yeah I used Meebo pretty often, it was very convenient. But I switched to Imo.im without delay.

Megaupload was a big loss, I often found it to be a useful site in many different ways. I'm glad to hear rumors that Kim Dotcom is trying to get it up and running again.
 
I'd never heard of half of those, namely the Buckyballs thing, Meebo and the Pano Logic. I heard of Microsoft Zune, but never saw one though, not in the shops, nor in the wild. So I won't miss them, don't think I'm going to really miss MetroPCS either.
 
isn't MediaFire basically filling the void left behind by Megaupload's disappearance?

The Zune failed in two departments. 1) it was a super expensive MP3 Player, nothing more, selling here for at least $399 retail. 2) the Zune2K bug, where all 30GB Zunes died due to some kind of leap year glitch.

There are plenty of megaupload related sites out there and yes mediafire is one of them

It was shut down due to (in my words) the US trying to take control of the internet during their failed attempt with SOPA. The only reason they were able to shutdown Mega Upload is because they had servers on US soil, and the site in general violated the horrible copyright laws that we have in place.

Good news: Bucky Balls do not exhibit "superaromaticity" which means that the electrons in the hexagonal rings do not delocalize over the whole molecule. As you well know, that is a good thing and so very important these days.

UPDATE: Now available in Boron as well as Carbon.

Thing is, I actually like netbooks and found a real use for them for work, travel and pleasure. I'm actually using a recently purchased 10 inch Lenovo S110 netbook running Linux Mint to write this post, and it's what I mainly use for work.

Ultrabooks like the MacBook Air are just too expensive for what they are.
Regular laptops might be OK, but IMO unnecessary weight and bulk to always carry around for my requirements and needs.
A tablet could be OK, but it must have a real physical keyboard, some means of angling the screen for when using it at a desk or table, proper office productivity software(Android is a bit of a fail so far in this respect), as well as a VGA video outlet for use in the classroom.

This doesn't quite jibe with what is happening in the market, the products are still available and still selling. The term Netbook may go away but the market segment won't (at least for a few years), Samsung just unveiled a new line of Chrome Books which while not Windows are still a Netbook at heart. Asus is still selling them and notice it did not say they weren't going to produce them, just the Eee line was going away.

Now, I have been predicting the true thing to disappear in the computer market will not be desktops but laptops. Unless there is a drastic change laptops will never have the power and capacity of their landlocked brethren, desktops will always be a necessity for many. Add to that laptops suffer the real threat of tablets and convertibles. Can you see where this is heading?
 
Netbooks, heck laptops in general are fading with the tablet revolution slowly filling the gulf between them and laptops as hardware specs quickly gain ground.
 
I also read that Avon cosmetics/fragrances are being discontinued, and I will miss a lot of Avon products!:( I remember selling Avon in my late teens, and I used to spend all my profits on their products. I love that stuff!

I could see a tablet been usable when at the desk, especially for when one has to do a lot of text entry and document creation/editing.

The modern netbooks/small low-cost laptops we have in Asia have certainly improved since 2007-2009. Most of them are now dual-core CPU, 2GB RAM, reasonable sized hard drives, full-blown Windows 7 or desktop Linux OS, USB3.0, 3-4 USB ports, VGA out, 3G/4G, 4-5 hour battery life.

I believe the original definition of a netbook specified 1GB RAM maximum and a small hard drive. Think it was Microsoft that would only supply XP for machines of no larger than 10 inch and only 1GB RAM maximum

Isn't that what a iPod Touch/Nano/Shuffle is???
 
As far as I'm concerned - the Zune and Ipod stink for one reason. No SD card and proprietary software. I bought a Sandisk Sansa. I just dragged and dropped to the card with no necessary installations. Bought music, ripped music - drag it to the card.
