My point exactly.

What he said :D our source says but don't quote me on it cause it's not 100% ram 768

the connect says it has a gig but apps say it has 806. i think i remember someone saying that a portion is being used of the os or something like that but i don't remember. could that be true because then the spirit might have a gig

Sounds like about right

The LG Motion 4G is advertised as having 1GB of ram, but in reality it's closer to only 710MB.

Some is used by the OS. Same for the internal memory of this SPIRIT phone, it looks like it will be advertised as having 5GB of internal memory, but only the amount on that picture is what's available, the other MBs of memory is probably used for formatting.

For some devices that may be true, but unfortunately, the LG Motion 4G only has about 710MB available to it for the OS and apps. It is currently unknown what the other ~250MB of the ram is used for in the system (or if it even exists at all).

As far as I know, Windows XP does the same with RAM, reporting only what you can use and not reporting what the OS uses. Windows 7 reports all of it and tells you what you are able to use.

Linux has been my primary desktop operating system since 2002, so I'm not really sure what Windows reports. You'll probably want to read through the thread I linked if you haven't already ;)

Hmm, so it looks like system might not be using it. I wonder if LG is falsely advertising.
I don't know, but it'll probably take someone smart with hardware to test the hardware and figure if that missing ~250MB exists, and if so where it's being used.

That's the escape that someone asked about earlier in the thread and probably not

It looks similar.
