Are you able to roam if you turn your EVO V 4G into an EVO 3D? What does it actually do turning your phone into a Sprint HTC EVO 3D?

Virgin Mobile doesn't have roaming from what I've heard.

with a custom rom, you can roam onto other networks but it wont actually work.. youll get the roaming signal in the status bar but calling actually leaves you with a welcome message from the network you are roaming on...

it goes something like this --> "welcome to t-mobile... giberish.. giberish... giberish... your phone is not authorized to run on this network... giberish... giberish..giberish"

as for what turning an evo v to evo 3d does is it upgrades your radios and prl so your signal is the best it can possibly be... that thread also asks you to flash the eng hboot which is the hboot that is compatible with most roms...

so i suggest you do all of that which is required in the thread so you can squeeze out the last bit of good into your phone...
