Root Help with getting MSL

I noticed you posted in the all things root section. Is your phone rooted? If so you can just use MSL Reader from the play store.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with your device to know how to get it if you aren't rooted. I have heard that sometimes carriers will give you the MSL if you just ask ;)

msl isn't stored on the rush - no entry for it in the build.prop.
calling sprint or boost mobile would be your best option.
tell them your phone is subsidy locked and asking for the MSL code.
if they ask you to perform any steps, stop a moment say "uh huh. okay hold on." pause, snicker if you want and then ask for the next step. tell them you aren't able to access anything besides your emergency dialer.

hopefully you get a dumb schmuck who will give it.

As mentioned before you will probably have to call your carrier. The msl isn't stored on the device.

I had to do that atleast 5 times over and over.The line in terminal that says not found became blank a couple times and after that the # will or should show.
 
Go to the xda site where u got the flashable zip(Gnex MSL FINDER).Go to page 4 and look at post #39. I used my prevails msl # and do that.It will give error,then just do the (getprop ril msl thing) with the right text.After several tries hopefully u will see ur msl.Also on op look at the 3rd terminal window.

call 18882667848 from another phone not your cell
enter your number
press 4
press 5
listen to walk through it will ask for your pin enter
then it tell you to enter ##_____# at some point that is your MSL

I wrote down this info for a co-worker. Went to the bathroom, came back, he had his MSL! Guess this method works!!! Thanks :)
 
As for the app the app maker says this...
It will work on most Android Phones (all those which store the code as property ril.MSL). A rooted device is not required.
