Help Low(er) Battery Life

I used to play apps throughout the day of work (~8 hours each day) and then have about 33% battery to spare afterwards. Now, I'm lucky if it makes it through work! I've heard that there are ways to "recharge improperly" and I figure that could be the issue, since I recharge my phone whenever I'm able to, regardless of it being on or off, low on power or high, etc. any suggestions to bring it back to the way it was in regards to battery life?

I won't go into the whole charging issue since there are a lot of myths about that subject.

However, I wonder if you have installed any new apps since you have noticed your lower battery life. I know sometimes some apps can drain your battery faster than they ought to. Even different keyboards can drain your battery faster, I notice that Swiftkey drains my battery quicker than other keyboards.

How about Swype? What's your opinion on it as far as power consumption is concerned?

I haven't used Swype in a long while, so I can't give you an answer. I will have to try it out and see. A lot of people like Swiftkey and I really like it too but for some reason it doesn't play nice with my phone's battery. :(

One thing that will give you more time is to leave on charger for about 15 minutes AFTER it says fully charged.

You will notice when you do this the battery stays at 100% for about 10 minutes or so when using phone instead of dropping quickly to 99% etc.

I agree you may have extra Apps now using more battery power.

After numerous recharges battery petformance goes down.

One thing that may help is under Developer Options:

Limit Background Processes :

Instead of “Standard Limit “ :

Select 4 background processes.

I also carry a spare battery for my Motion in my wallet.
