Help Multiple phone nrs for one contact

I just upgraded from HTC Legend to Samsung galaxy Note 2. I'm adding a few new contacts, and I am trying to add a friend's mobile nr AND home nr. Oddly enough the contacts list will not let me add a phone nr to an existing contact. So I can list only one phone nr for him, either mobile or home, but not both.

My ancient (3 year old) HTC with Android 2.x does this easily. Now I have Android 4.1.1. Am I missing something in the update here? How do I add multiple phones to one contact???

Please help with this.

regards,
Elliott

Hi Herodroid,
Ok, I was saving to SIM, and that did not allow multiple phone nrs for one contact .Now I see you are saving to phone.

btw, other than that obvious difference, is it always better to save to phone, not sim?

Save all your contact s to your google account then when you upgrade / replace your handset as soon as you log into your google account it will automaticly download your contacts for you

I don't save contacts to the phone, I was just taking a picture to show the add button for you. I use Google for my contacts like slatyford suggested.

Also, my phone doesn't use a SIM card, so I don't know how that would work.

How does your phone not use a SIM card? That's how it connects to your carrier.

Magic! :D

I'm on Sprint which uses CDMA instead of GSM.

Ah, Yes. I'd heard of the outlandish tech that nearly died when the unicorn horns ran out. Apparently it's now a race to find the finest 21 year old virgin hair for the latest circuitry. If the new magic of Graphene is not long in the coming then Virgin hair may well hold out as long as silicon. They can pass away peacefully together like 2 imaginary friends.
