Root ****HBOOT Downgrade (Working AOSP and GB ROMS)****

It should, but honestly i have not found a reason to try yet. I am getting the best battery life ever on DT CM9 with kernel included in the rom.

Where can I get to the link for DT CM9 and also, is there a list of what is working on this rom too?? Thanks

I put this on my SD card, rebooted into the bootloader, but can't find where to install this zip file. My hboot is still 1.57. I went into recovery and tried to install the zip but got an error message. I'd love to downgrade my hboot to get CM10 and a score of other ROMs working, but I guess I haven't had enough caffeine today and my brain doesn't want to work properly. Could someone explain how to install this downgraded hboot?

Make sure that the zip file has the EXACT name that it did originally (it's also in the OP if you forgot). Then make sure it's in the root folder on your SD card, it won't work if you put it in a folder. Then boot into the bootloader (not recovery), and select "bootloader" and your phone will automatically search for this zip and ask you if you want to upgrade. The two important parts are making sure that the name is exact, and that the file is in the root of your SD card.

Okay, I'm an idiot. Apparently I didn't read the red sentence that said it would only work if it was S-Off and I'm still S-On. Guess I'll change that then try it again. Sorry for that.

No problem. I highly recommend achieving S-Off, but it sounds like you were already going to do that anyway. Good luck.

for some reason i tried to use qpst and i couldnt identify the port needed to change my prl....any solutions?

also, i tried downgrading my hboot with virgin mobile branded evo v. when i go into bootloader it says loading img then parsing very quickly, but nothing happens. there is no confirmation for a change. when i go bact into bootloader, it still says hboot 1.57.

I am s-off, rooted

Please Help Me Am New to this phone. Originally had crappy ZTE Warp

imo changing the prl is unneccesary and useless. changing the radio and the pri are far more important

so how do i change the hboot to 1.04...its not doing anything when i change...also noticed op said md5 verification, how do i verify

First you have to be S-off I use j-bear and had to try multiple times, be aware use a spare micro sd card, as it may erase everything. once you accomplish that then copy hboot 1.04 to the root directory of the sd card. boot the phone into fastboot either by using adb or by powering down and holding the volume down and the power. There are lots of instruction written on how to do this process google is your friend or check the stickies in this site.

i am s-off and i downloaded the file and put on my sd card...once i got into bootloader it started trying to load the file then quickly said parsing, but nothing changes...are you sprint branded-because i am virgin branded and i did the ota update

try redownloading the file or checking the md5 sum, also i think this thread is a bit dated, i would use leslieanns thread. http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/595109-fix-everything-turning-your-phone-into-evo-3d-thread.html

also be sure that your file is named PG86IMG.zip or it wont work, also it has to be in the root of your phone. (hboot from Leslie's thread here )
