haha yeah sorry man been a F'd up week.. my great uncle died the other day, he was 80 years old got hit by a car at a gas station and passed away so was at a wake and funeral the next day.. now i just been catching up with everything again lol this thing is such a pain with no test device because the roms are huge and take forever to upload LOL.. ill be back at it in no time :D just need to get re-situated here lol

I hate to hear that. My condolences.but yuhh I kno what yu mean. It takes forever to download them too.:rolleyes:
 
thank you everyone, but keep the mushy posts out of here it's time to work!! LOL got another test uploading if anyone is ready?

NOTE: if it works, than thank shabby!! LOL using some pieces from his updater-script with high hopes we may get a better result :/ but whooo knows...
 
ldrifta you gunna make a nice rom based off the tw jb one? if so lemme know and i can bundle up pure stock before i started to muck in it for ya.

lol yeah that be cool, im still trying to get the stock 4.0.4 going LOL, im almost positive it's related to permissions like pg mentioned, but i just cant prove it LOL would be much easier with a device.. but yeah im sure ill want to do more projects for this device so a stock jb base would be GREEEAT to start with ;) thanks shabby

hey since it doesn't have no radio, have you tried adding the lib and apn files from motropolish rom and see if it works?
 
what is the actual name of this device? is it d2mtr? or something else..? trying to look up the sources to this thing :/

wanted to take a crack at compiling the kernel, see if it helps the wifi issue.. "if" thats what's wrong.. i know with the esteem we needed to "borrow" the hdmi drivers from 'revo' to compile the kernel from source.. figured i would poke around.. lol honestly im not sure where to go from here.. im in-capable of figuring out how to generate my own updater-script for this thing so im not 100% sure if it permissions related issue or what...

as of now flashing the whole system there is no data at all.. so that may be permission related, im unsure atm..

but when flashing just the de-odex'd app, framework, lib, xbin & kernel, everything works except wifi.. so my guess was wifi could be broken in the boot.img i provided.. wanted to build a fresh one to hopefully answer some questions or just cause more problems LOL

sure wish i had a developer at my side to help out a lil :p haha j/p

stock kernel works fine so no need to worry about all that :) what i would suggest doing is starting from scratch, i saw you use a kitchen to speed the process up? there is an odin tar you can extract and use teh raw system images. from there once you have the rom and stock kernel all set up we can begin work on an updater script.

you shouldnt try mixing and matching anything from my rom in teh stock ics one especially libs and blobs. try just a pure stock rom before doing any kind of edits with deodexing or zipaligning etc. i imagine once you have a base to work on youll make a great rom man, its why i suggested you for the next dev device. youve spent a lot of hours trying to get this all working :)

dude, no sarcasm at all i honestly appreciate the vote of confidence!! :D that just made me want to work harder!!!

as of now i have not mixed anything in it, it's still pure stock and yes "i" did use dsixda kitchen for the boot.img, but that failed on me so i kindly 'borrowed' the kernel PG had used in his previous attempts, his booted and mine didn't :/ lol (but i also could have done something wrong on my first attempt as well)

so im basically in the position you described to a certain extent..

got a pure stock base, de-odex'd though.. the system has been left alone except in the last 2 tests i removed a few of those folders ie: preloaddata etc.. but hasn't seemed to affect the progress made to this point (ill add em back in if needed)... {IMO and with some guidance/help from PG} i am stuck to believe my main set-back is the installer-script..

i have faith in your reasoning about the kernel so i wont bother with that yet lol, but yeah i would truley love a lil help with the script, gonna jump on IRC now if your around there :D any preffered channell?? i always forget which ones are popular LOL

Yes trying to get something as bare to the bone/cleaned out as we can get it... Like if we want something we can push it in to the system.
