I know some of you are tired of the microsd talk, but, I was thinking with the 8 gb of moviNAND, might the speed not be as important. On the thread talking about the eris the faster card made some difference in general speed. However all the testers that we heard about say this thing is really fast, might that be because of the very fast moviNANd. If this is the case we may not see a difference when using a class 2 as just a file repository.

I guess we won't know till we get the phone.

I think the onboard storage will be big for general speed for accessing things like background images, ringtones, and contact info, and using external storage for things such as movies and music where instand access isn't as important to the OS's responsiveness.

Hey woodraskam, did we get confirmation today that apps WILL or WILL NOT be able to be stored on the 8GB of on-board storage? I've been gone all day.

That actually makes a lot of sense. And I don't know that you would notice the speed difference in a class 2 vs class 6 for just music, movies, & docs.

I've tried to keep up all day, and I'm not certain. I don't think it's been confirmed either way for sure, but with 512MB if you can have your .exe stored onto the ROM and put the auxilliary files onto the onboard 8GB, I don't think there'll be a big crunch for app space.
 
When I was getting a new phone for my husband tonight the rep asked me about my plan ( I had a family share 1400 min text and talk). He mentioned to me that we had not been coming close to our minutes ( I knew this) and told me I could drop my minutes back down to 700 and he could give me a "bank" of 500 mins that could be used in case of overages. I would just have to agree to extend my contract for 1 year but that it would not affect my NE2 or any of my other lines renewal dates. So i of course jumped on it, Just wondering where this came from- Is this as good a deal as it sounds?

Also can anyone confirm that accessories will be available at time of release for the Incredible? The rep helping me tonight told me they should be ( though he said he had never heard of our phone).

Yeah, Anonimac was winking and hinting today that we very well might be storing apps on the internal 8GB. I have a feeling that is going to be happening. I just wasn't sure if there was a confirmed post that stated it FOR SURE or not. I'm heading downtown. You guys have a good night.

You're exactly right. And it seems the EVO is the main one folks are comparing it to but there are some differences that are tradeoffs, IMHO. Like the screen, I'd rather have the AMOLED of the Inc than the TFT. So they're different but not necessarily superior. And, you really can't leave out the network in comparisons. While Sprint roams on VZW for voice, I was told that it doesn't roam for data at all. So the 4G does nothing for me in my area and in most places nearby, I wouldn't even have 3G.

Totally agree with everything you said, and you also have to include the price difference in plan costs, especially if you're a family plan with multiple smartphones.

I suspect Monday may be the day we have all been waiting for. I think it would be odd if Verizon did not make any announcement about the Incredible on Monday as they are clearly referring to it in the last tag line in the leaked picture.

I sure hope your right...I guess if they would have said "expect something incredible" that would have been too obvious.
 
I think that the whole monday announcement from verizon won't happen. We all saw what happened with palm, when it was introduced after the droid, total collapse. The Windows phone is directed towards teens and while that is a huge market android is really hot, so i think we might see an announcement later on...for the Incredible, unless verizon hosts an event announcing all their phones, with regards to the Codename 6.

I was thinking the "Stay tuned" part was reminiscent of the twits that were posted from @VzOffers or whatever it is. I guess I wouldn't be surprised either way.

I'll post this again, but I think your going to be disappointed on Monday...Check this article from Engadget, looks like Monday is tied up with Microsoft and their "Pink" phone project.

Yes it is possible that they will just focus on the Microsoft phones, and the next day do the Samsung Reality or something, and then finally the Incredible. I thought it was odd they placed all three taglines in that one pic if they're only going to be discussing the Microsoft phones and nothing else on Monday.

Yeah, but I looked through all of my Zune documentation and boxes and I found nearly all of those words verbatim lol
 
In regards to the message/picture announcement that Verizon employees got today about the "The Journey Begins Monday", is the picture posted the FULL image, or does was it cut off on the right side? I was curious because this image and the "Code Name: 6" box is different...was wondering if one of you guys photoshopped in the 6 box to hide what the graphic was actually showing, or if they are just two different images in the smoke.
