Sprint LTE speeds vs ATT LTE speeds

I've never seen over 25 megs on Verizon lte. That said I can count on one hand the number of times I've lost a 4G signal. I live in a Verizon heavy area. No idea how people are pulling 40 megs over lte unless you are the only one on the tower.

In NYC I have to say at&t for me has been the most reliable as far as LTE speeds go. I've used VZW and its ehhhhh, it was fast and all, but just very spotty in the year or so that I used it. As for Sprint, terrible absolutely terrible as a whole as far as the carrier goes. With at&t I get between 15-25Mbps on the regular.

But then you'd be paying a bill for both at&t and Sprint? There's no logic in that!

Did you not have insurance?

Did you try the route of adding a line to your at&t account for only $10, but not activating the line and just using the addition of another line to get the phone you want for a very low price? The line would just be a phantom number that you wouldn't use, but would cost you an additional $10 every month. Pop your sim card from your current number in the new phone and your good to go.

If I go over to Sprint, why would I be paying a bill for AT&T? What I'm saying is, right now, I have no contract with ATT. I pay as I go. My '2 year contract' expired with them early last year. I then bought my Note outright, so that I would have no contract. Now, I will be needing that subsidized phone (or go as mentioned about t-mo). And the reason I am thinking about leaving ATT is that 1. my gf is on sprint, 2. I can get nice discount through work on sprint.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I have enough info to make a decision.

Before you decide on what network you will go to, I think it's a good idea to ask people in your area instead of the forums. Speed and signal dependability will depend on where you are. :)

Depends where you live. Houston, TX the is worst city I've ever been in as far as mobile speeds on any carrier because the city is so spread out and population is growing so fast. I've gotten speeds of up to 26mbps in some parts of Houston with Sprint 4g LTE. For the most part you'll get 8+ mbps when you're in a more civilized area (outside of the ghetto). But in the hood you'll get about 3mbps.

Totally agree with you on that one. Though I find that downtown Houston has better coverage/signal where I live. I live in the suburbs in Richmond near the border of Katy. Thank God for wifi... lol

Bro, I'm in Chicago too. Maybe you should re-read your post. You did include VZW. Sprint sucks here bro. Just sayin' Nothing but dropped calls. VZW is Verizon.

Speak for yoself. I haven't had a dropped call since we was announced haha and the only carriers that suck where I'm at is gsm

Lol I'm in the hood (westside of chicago austin area and avg around 25mb so I hope u was just speaking on Houston. And FYI NONE OF THESE MARKETS IS EVEN FINISHED. Including Chicago which says wonders imo

Speed doesn't matter if you are capped, if you have sprint lte in your area and it gets a few mb down, you're better off then everyone on a tiered plan.

Chicago in general has better mobile service imo. I remember getting 4g in a basement in Chicago when I was with T-Mobile. Even Austin has better 3g on Sprint than Houston. Houston is just terrible. Need more towers.
