Free Wireless Tether?

On my rooted Epic 4G with Sprint I had free wireless tether...anyone figure it out for the rooted Motion 4G?

I use it when there's no WiFi available for my laptop. That link looks interesting but I'm not sure it will work for me. When I go into the Hotspot app I get a message saying I don't have it on my rate plan.

That's to deter people who don't pay for hotspot from using it Or just to tell people that there's plan for it. Everyone gets that's message even if they've payed for it but it will still work just hit don't show this message again.

Ok weird...I did that before & it never worked. But now it does. Strange!

Now if you can get me MetroPCS Visual Voicemail for free.... :-D

I was just about to reply that you likely already had Visual Voicemail when I ended up checking the MetroPCS plans.

Makes me glad I went with the unlimited data plan when it was $55. Includes Visual Voicemail, Screen-It, and International Text Messaging as part of the deal. I just noticed that -- even on the 'new' $60 unlimited 4G plan -- you still have to cough up another $5.00 to get those addons.

Probably not a big deal for most, but hey... might be something you didn't know.

I missed out on the $55 promo. I tried to get it by saying I'd most definitely switch if I could have it, but no dice. I called them about VVM. I'm on the $50 plan & would have to go to the $60 for it. I'm not paying an extra $10/mo for VVM. That's why I was hoping someone had found a way to get it for free on rooted devices.

Yeah, I found that too and it works well!

4g tethering works for me. I use the default app that came with the phone.
I use the 60$ plan and I thought that it would cost an extra 10$ to get the tethering.

Well thats why, all that data from consoles is like unkown data so it just lets it through. Try tethering to a computer or non android device it'll block it since you dont have that plan

So just to be clear as long as we use some type of agent switcher we should be OK then? The problem I've encountered with agents is some secure websites will flash a message stating the browser is not supported while using a switcher agent. Since I am not rooted I'm limited on my options. "Pda Net" seemed to work well at masking the connection while USB tethered but since the free trial ran out I haven't had a chance to put it to the test yet. I've been meaning to purchase it, however I was hoping for some feedback on it first since I would had to waste $20 on something that quite possible could be blocked by Metro PCS shortly after. If anyone can shed some light I would greatly appreciate it.
