It gets you the internet access that you need to browse, check weather, and run apps that access the internet. You also have to pick a voice plan in addition to the $30 data package

If you have any sort of discount 15-20% it will be about $80 with taxes and all for a 450 minutes monthly plan with data.
These device require a data plan of at least $30 (add your discount to it though).
What you'll be looking at is Voice Plan + Data (at least $30 **required**) + Text (if you want it... you probably do though)+Taxes/fees= 80 Bucks with a typical discount.
EDIT: Wow... im super late to the party. Dang internet wasn't loading. :-(. I HATE AT&T DSL!

I believe so. But it's $30 for data per user. If he wants data and you want data... it will be an extra $60 a month.
You cannot share the data :-(
EDIT: With a discount I believe you can only get your discount (including data) on your primary line. So it would end up being $24(discount)+$30=$54
Please correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe this is correct.
I've been out of school for a while now, and I am still on the family plan. I've been into VZW a lot recently talking with them to see how much it will be when I go over to my individual plan (finally, independence).
I think they said it was $84 dollars with my 18% plan discount (teacher) + 20% data discount

I called my local Best Buy yesterday and spoke with the mobile manager, I asked him if he knew if the HTC Incredible was going to launch by the end of the month, he played completely dumb about it saying "what incredible i never heard of it" I laughed and said cmon you seriously never heard of it he then chuckled under his breath and said "isn't that a Sprint phone or something" I said nooo you sure you never heard of it? He then says "oh the one with the 8 mega pixel camera" I said yes! He said no man I haven't heard anything about that one yet, I though to myself first you never heard of it then you knew it had an 8 mp camera....he says ya the only thing I have against that phone is runs windows mobile I told him no it doesn't. This banter went back and forth for a minute, finally I said your gonna stay true to Verizon's solemn oath I take it and remain silent, he laughed and said no man if I knew I would tell you. So all in all I think he knows what we know he was obviously playing stupid he kept chuckling under his breath....

did anyone read the user guide all the way thru? someone said it looked like another phones user guide (sorry dont know which one). ok so i just called the best buy hear in chattanooga and of course they dont know of a phone called the incredible. she put me on hold and came back and said that one of her associates had read where it was coming out middle summer but the nexus one is supposed to come out before it. who the heck knows!!!!!

I had a life once... in fact it was only about a month ago that I had a life... right before CTIA. Then I tried out the moto droid... didn't like it... returned it... and googled "new android phones" so I could see what was coming out.... "soon". I found the N1 then I was trying to find out info on it and I found something... incredible. After that my life ceased to exist. I spent my entire spring break... yeah.. I am a VERY non-traditional student....glued to this forum. Now just getting my homework done is an issue cause if I am working on that.. then I miss too much news on here... If I keep up with this thread... then I don't get my homework done... to top that off I have a new job... and that REALLY cuts into my forum reading time. I hope this phone comes out soon so I can pretend like I have a life again... but I suppose I will have to be on the new thread so I can keep up with all "way cool ap" posts and "how to" stuff. Ugh... life will never be the same.

So much anticipation for the Incredible. I don't believe that Monday will bring us any news, as big red won't step on Microsoft's toes with their new phone releases. Still firmly believe the Incredible will be released at end of this month due to the best buy release calendar. I would bet we will hear something concrete a week from Monday...if it comes out earlier...sweeeeeeet!

Same here, between classes, studying/HW, social life, working out i barely had any time as it was. Now this phone has severely gashed a hole in my very limited free time i had.
My friends are actually saying "Your on that stupid phone forum again" and all i can say is its not stupid, as i stare into despair of this phone never being released, and physics homework.
