Dropbox is not a native app anymore on XWLS8.
Stock Wallpapers are back to the ones we get on Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich.
 
Nope. Since there are no tweaks available yet. I would just test this firmware and restore my Neat Backup if needed/if I still want to.

Anyways,
Google Search Widget is ICS one and not Jelly Bean.
Lockscreen Freeze Bug is also squashed.
 
Right!... so none of the re-partitioning and losing 1GB of internal memory and the update taking an hour, as mentioned, here. I'm guessing that it referred to the SGSII Korean variant, the M250.
 
XWLS8 is as per XXLSJ as far as partitioning is concerned. There will be no repartitioning, and there will also be a /preload partition to accommodate the extra space required by /system
 
Over at the XDA people are considering LS8 more of a downgrade from XXLSJ, what with the lack of dropbox, ripple lockscreen, etc... So the question is... to flash or not to flash ;)
 
Every release is always the same. You will get the benefits (hopefully) of the new release, but may not necessarily get many of the fancy mods and tweaks (though I would hazard a guess and say a good percentage of LSJ mods will be compatible with LS8)
At least with LS8 you will get the stock kernel with lockscreen lag and exynos exploit fixed, and by going on the feedback, it seems to be a much slicker kernel with fewer wakelocks. This can only be good news, as this will be what Dori and the like base their future kernels on.

I'll be waiting for Neat Full (which will be with PhilZ LS8 kernel), try some of the more elaboarate mods (ripplie/ink etc) and make my own statusbar mods until more compatible stuff comes out.
 
I will be waiting for the lite version to come out since I dont use any of the samsung stock apps.. But you are right hawker, if wakelocks are handled better with this kernel and its smoother, then we stand to gain :) Over to Sale now :D
