Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

Great release,
If possible please focus a little of your attention to fixing the vibration in the rom, we would greatly appreciate it.

I'd be willing to donate 20 dollars, the no vib is a dealbreaker for me and i'd love to use this great rom.

i would be willing to chip in to get vibe working as soon as possible too. :D
 
Man... this stock ROM would be better if you could make it at least 5 desktops instead of 3 it would be perfect, everything is great never the less its so polished and I like it.

yes definitely i have no room for widgets lol, id love to 5screens to be added like cyanogens on my g1, i would definitely send a beer or 2 ur way and if vibration works in r9 now that definitely deserves mroe then a beer

Yeah I do miss the vibrate feature but can live without it if I got to.

Buy Open Home. It's $4 and you can have up to 7 screens..

And, this R8 release is the best one by far. I love it. The music player is awesome. It looks up lyrics to most of my songs and even has the functionality of the Shazam app. I love it. The new theme is awesome as well.
 
Honestly, I like the clean look, but R8 seems to be a lot laggier than R7, and some of the apps that were taken out like the battery monitor and terminal emulator were very useful. I may switch back to R7, but haven't quite decided. Also, the dialer in R7 was much better. I really do appreciate all of the hard work, and I'll definitely donate next month when I have some money!

You can get "ConnectBot" from the Android Market. It can connect to remote SSH servers or connect locally as a terminal. It's free too.
 
im switching back to r7 actually, it seems like the touch screen isnt calibrated or something when i text its like pressing buttons im no where near

Yea, it's pretty much the same darkstar theme for the HTC series. I had it with mytouch but with black notification bar. It really looked like a Palm pre then.

Likewise. It is really snappy save for the transition effects, which were less dramatic (simple slide vs fade in swoosh) and faster in R7. The rounded edges are taking some getting used to as well.

Regardless, my battery life seems much better and memory management seems to be better in this build. I also like the minimalistic app drawer arrow. Bravo!
 
I'm having great overall performance from R8 (better than R7). I do have to report that I have lost root several times and have had problems with Superuser Permissions.

How were you able to make your notification bar black?

Edit: never mind I didn't see that you mentioned that. thought that was your screen shot.
 
My home screens and android system keeps freezing up with this ROM and asks me if I want to Force close but I must say I am impressed by how long this battery is lasting me and I am murdering the battery by running a lot of apps that usually consume it. In the past few hour s from a full battery I am only now near half of my battery gone. its usually a lot quicker to drain and I didn't need to reboot after ODIN but instead just now it randomly rebooted..... never happened before.

Had this problem, pull your SD card before boot, it will start up. Not sure what's causing this, probably something to do with A2SD. Once it comes on, you can put your SD card back in.

I already have GDE dxTop Freshface and PandaHome. but it would be nice to not have to have it ya know? kinda just be an absolutely perfect ROM not to say this isn't perfect though because I do like the rom.

thanx alot foxdl99 it worked after removing my sdcard ... i was stressed for a sec there but thanx for the quick response
