Root [Sprint] Need help...kind of

Hey Guys,

OK, so here is my situation. I disparately want to hotspot but I do not want to lose my current settings. I have no idea which back-up to use or even what root to use. I would also like to possibly overclock my phone as well. Any help/advice would be great and I would be debit to who I get it from. Thank you very much in advance for all of you time and help.

Check out the root guide at the top of this section, packed full of useful info and video links. Also check out the Guide to Rooting GN2 over on XDA. And just read, read, read and check out the different videos, best way to learn. And we're always here if you have questions.

With this phone the root process is really pretty simple. Take a look at either Josh Drews or QBKing77 or both on how to root sprint GN2 videos on youtube. And since you don't want to lose your settings just stay stock rooted. QBKing77 also has a good video on how to add wifi tether/wifi hotspot too. Hope this help.

I second this. I followed QBKing77's video. Easy!!! Then you find a stock rom with the Treve Mod wifi tether. My GN2 is a spare phone for me that I strictly use as an air card on a daily basis. Super sweet!

I was like yourself...got my Note ll February 3 and was rooted by the 5th. I read and read...still learning tho. But I used CF Auto Root...literally after downloading the two required files then installing them on my pc...Odin took .08 seconds and my phone was stock rooted with TWRP recovery. Now I have the newest ma7 stock rooted update and everything is working and running smooth.
Best of luck...I was EXTREMELY NERVOUS but it was VERY QUICK ...and lost no apps or data.
