LG SPIRIT 4G (MS870) expozed!!

Can someone test the battery life on the spirit and tell us if it is good?.
i want to buy it but idk if the battery is good enough

So basically this phone is an upgraded LG Connect with ICS and and a bigger screen...not bad..not to mention a better ppi 245 vs 233 on the Connect..hmm might be an interesting buy, but I'm also dying for the S3 which has right now and probably continue to have a larger development community..I just need it to go on sale for $399 again

More of a motion with bigger screen

I own it. Picked it up yesterday from a Corporate store.
Great phone. Boots fast, not anywhere near the nuisance of bloat-ware my Galaxy S II came with on Sprint. No annoying gingles when you boot or shut off either. Boot time is about 10 second faster than my Samsung. As it was explained to me, it's a Motion underneath the hood, just a bigger screen and bigger battery. LTE in my neighborhood reached 5Mbit/sec which blew my mind. It feels substantial in the hand, the screen is actually sharper looking than the AMOLED of the S II; no mosquito effect. Apps feel quicker on the "fresh" load. Overall responsiveness is exceptionally good. LG did this phone right and Metro was really smart getting it on-board like they did.

Turning off 4G when I don't need it - and Wifi - this phones looks like it will surpass my S II while utilizing Juice Defender and internal LG power saver (I assume that is similar to what the Optimus G has in it..). I expect to get nearly 2 days between charges on light to moderate use.

Call quality is fantastic. Speakers seem louder to me than the S II.
Overall build quality, fit & finish is exceptional!

It's still early but I'm on the verge of telling everyone:
"can't recommend this phone enough", especially with Metro's
super affordable plans.

Is the Music Player better than the one on the Motion?

The one on the Motion is a bit weak, but I've been using "PowerAmp" which is a Music Player with a pre-amp, 10 band EQ and you can set and assign different pre-amp and EQ settings for every song in your MP3 library which is a nice option but can be time consuming.

Something to do as you listen to your MP3 library if you don't like the sound quality of a certain song, you can change the settings and assign them to that or any other song.

Glad to haer the screen res rocks on the Spirit. I also heard that there is wireless HDMI output - any truth to that?

Thanks. It sounds like I'll be picking one up soon since Wirefly didn't come in at an attractive price point so I'll just go with Metro and the MIR, but I'm going to wait a month to see if the S-3 gets discounted with the S-4 due in April.

The S-3 is $399.00 on Wirefly.

The S-4 drops in April, so you might see the S-3 at $300.00 again on Wirefly like it was for a short time last year, but that's speculation on my part.

The last date to buy the Spirit and to also get the MIR is March 3rd, so I might wait another month before buying the Spirit to see if the S-3 gets discounted.

This guy posted a benchmark of the Spirit next to the motion and the S3. You should check it out. :D
LG Motion Vs. LG Spirit Vs. Samsung S3 Benchmark Test - YouTube

The test was a bad one he used quadrant and there's no way those phones are anywhere near the S3.

Let's see any of those phones try to beat these scores on antutu

I ignore built-in music players; I primarily use GoneMad. I own doubletwist too but GoneMad is my favorite.

Don't know about wireless HDMI...haven't looked into it...and honestly, I wouldn't use it anyway.

The S3 is a powerful phone but not worth the dough IMHO.
$299?...maybe...
Had I stayed with Sprint I would have opted for the Optimus G on my upgrade date but I refuse to pay for these 80+ dollar a month plans anymore, from anyone. To me it's tossing money down the drain..

The Spirit is a solid phone on a plan that is sanely priced!
Meets my needs and surpasses my expectations from a device standpoint.

Hate to admit it, but software wise the spirit is wayyy smoother. Right out ot the box. Samsung needs to step up their touchwiz. And btw i have almost all the metropcs 4g phone starting with the esteem so I know what I'm talking about
