Root rooted optimus V's internal memory used up quick even with link2sd

I have a rooted optimus V with an 8gb SD card. My 2nd partition is 3gb.

Usually when I download a new app I can see the link2sd icon appearing right, that the new app is being linked.

Yet, my internal memory fills up very quick BUT I see my 2nd. partition's (sdext2) usage always remains very small. Less than 1/4 of it's capacity.

Am I doing something wrong?
