Root I need a stock rom.

Did you find the stock ROM?
Yes, thanks man!I'm now running a jmz stock rom; however, I see that there's a system update and I don't know how to go about installing it, I don't want to create another thread So i'm looking at other threads but I can't find a definite answer... any suggestions?

Run the RUU if you want to take the OTA.

Though honestly? I'd suggest going S-Off. It's the same thing IMO, and you get a LOT more options for ROMs.

Thanks for the suggestion. I really appreciate it, but I kind of like the stock feel! I just want to know how to apply this update.. should I just install it directly from HTC Software Updates in system updates in system setting of my phone?

Yep, but you need to be TOTALLY stock to do so. Including stock recovery. So run the RUU, do the OTA, and you'll be set!

Basically, if you download the RUU from the links Ramjet provided, you run it under windows. Its pretty simple, just follow the on screen instructions. (Click next, next, next...;P)

Then go to Menu > Settings > Updates. And that's it!

Downloading the update. What do you mean by run it in windows?

The RUU? its an EXE file you download to your PC, then just run it. I say "Run it in windows" because I'm a Linux user >.>;;

The update on your phone won't flash if you have a custom recovery. you need to run the RUU utility.

Please explain that to me in terms i can understand... I'm kind of like a noob at this! lol Sorry!
This is the RUU.exe that you need to download and run in Windows. Start the bootloader by removing/replacing the battery and then holding Power+VolumeDown buttons until the bootloader starts, then connect it to a Windows PC and run the RUU.exe.

Ohhh ok now we're speaking lol Will install in a few! Thanks man! You've been of great help! So I do this everytime there's an update?

Don't run the OTA update until after you flash the RUU.exe or you won't be able to flash the RUU without doing some other stuff first. If you have a custom recovery installed the OTA won't install anyway.

No. Once you are back to 100% stock and have installed the November OTA update you should be able to install the next OTA without any problem if there is one, which is not likely at this point unless a major security flaw is discovered.

But I have 4ext recovery installed.. so what do I do to install the update? I'm confused smh lol

That's the one I downloaded... I thought this one since it is the newest... or how does it work?
That's the wrong RUU and won't flash on your phone. Download the one I linked in post #15 and use that.

The OTA is more current than that RUU, but there is no RUU currently available with that update. It's kind of like waiting for Microsoft to update the base Windows media so you don't have to install service pack(s).

Just do what I said in post #15 and you should be fine.

If you are S-ON and have unlocked the bootloader using the htcdev.com procedure the following fastboot command needs to be issued before flashing the RUU:

fastboot oem lock

You can start the RUU.exe in Windows after issuing that command.
