Well yeah except the Eris has a slower processor lesser memory and a 3.2" screen, The Incredible has a 3.7" screen, faster processor and more memory.it looks like an eris

I also heard that the VIP program was expiring, when I called to verify my one year upgrade eligibility date (March 1st). The CS rep told me that although the program was expiring, I would still be entitled to an upgrade any point after March 1. . . . I was told the same thing by an in-store rep just a couple of weeks ago.
I will be irate if they were both wrong

It's obviously not, the Eris has a white trackball, this has the touch sensor.

You'll need the new $15 dollar backplate that is shown.
Edit: If you look closely, you can see that it extends past the camera "bump" and the original backplate doesn't in the pictures we've seen.

I don't see why they would put a battery door in the first round of accessories if it wasn't required with the extended 2150mAh battery.

Those photos within the Equipment Guide are squashed —*NOT PHOTOSHOPPED ZOMG — but rather just uploaded poorly by Verizon. So no worries about the screen size. It's just a illusion created by someone who didn't upload the photos to the correct aspect ratio into the system.

I'd call again. That hasn't been what others have said... And if it has, usually they "grandfather" you in on the status that it was when you signed your last contract. That's how it is with my NE2 discount.
