Root Rooting after the latest update

VM is sending me a replacement phone. Mine has been acting up, and I figure that since my warranty is good for a while longer, I might as well get a new phone. My current one is rooted and s-off. I don't know if I will s-off again, because I like stock and don't know if I will try new ROMs again for a while. But I do want it rooted. If I get this phone, and install the latest OTA first...the one that fixed the texting issue, can I follow the same instructions for rooting? Or would having the latest OTA change anything? Would this affect any steps for achieving s-off too? Or I can follow both guides as I did with my current phone?

Also, can I root the phone, and copy everything over with titanium backup, and then activate it, or should I activate it before rooting or anything else?

its much better and safer to activate before root but you should be able to do it after...
Can rooting it first interfere with activation? If it can really cause a problem I'll activate first, I'd just rather do the rooting and everything first because I'd like the phone to be good to go after it's activated.

you can root first, then flash the stock rom and then activate..

I'm sorry guys, for all these questions. I just rooted the new phone. But I realized that since it involves flashing the old stock ROM, it doesn't have the newest update again. Would I still have the new radios from the patch if I installed the patch before rooting? And, can I install the OTA if I'm rooted? I don't remember if I'm not supposed to if I am rooted, or if that is only s-off. I have not done s-off to this phone. In case I can't do the OTA, is there a link to somewhere with the OTA that I can flash even though I'm s-off?
