What I've been arguing with you was the fact that you were arguing about saying no phones would have similar specs, and no phone will be as fast, when in reality, most will. I'm not talking about JUST 4G people, i'm talking about the general consensus of people. After this post, I'm done arguing. It's useless as you're too stubborn to see things from any other point of view from your own. I'd have more fun arguing with a brick wall.

Been reading this back-and-forth for a while. Agreed it would be more fun with a brick wall. Now you two kiss and make up

Are you suggesting that the Evo is a less capable device because fewer people can take full advantage of 4G? That's like saying HD television is less capable than cave drawings because 95% of the world doesn't have HD signals.

(ooh, I made a metaphor. or a simile.)

But he started it! I was just stating an idea for what I think would've been a good marketing campaign for Sprint... then it just blew up. Haha :p

He is from Chicago he can't help it...I'm just glad this isn't a car forum....Chicago drivers scare me..:D

The funny thing is I had a similar issue this weekend as well on another area of these forums. And guess what, he was a Sprint guy too. All you have been doing on here is trying to show why EVO is superior. Why? Will that validate your purchase. If I'm going to buy a Chevy, I don't go and post on a Ford forum why I think Chevy is superior. For people coming on here to find out about the Incredible all you're doing is giving them more posts to sort through.
P.S. I'm sorry, I used another bad metaphor. Doh!

What do you expect from a (probable) Blackhawks fan?:D

If you want to argue specs or anything relevant, I don't mind, but these posts don't do anything but try to poke at Berner. In his defense, he hasn't said the Incredible sucks, he just believes the Evo is better, and has every right to believe so.

I don't agree with everything he said, but let's not let this discussion degrade into something ugly.

Nice...keep talking $hit ol' man...you may want to start making friends on here because you never know when you might need some assistance after your next hip replacement (when you slip outside of Macaroni Grill). :D;):p:rolleyes::cool:

He is right Steven.............................behave...........:p

Although I've only made one post but read all 629 pages of posts, I'd like to sincerely thank all posters for enlightning this technology challenged
69 year old that decided to purchase a "Smart Phone" and the Incredible it will be. Again my sincere thanks but expect me to post questions after purchase concerning how to make best use of the Damn thing, LOL.

In fact my 1st question is pre-purchase; My local Verizon store stated purchase included set-up and training of phone use, is the training worth the additional $50 +/- Verizon may charge vs. Best Buy etc. for the initual phone purchase.

You rock! Welcome :) Technology is for anyone of ANY age. :)

...and not be chased off by bad metaphors. Or is it a simile. I can't remember.

Simile speaking metapohrically...;)

And does it really matter enough to have a big pissing contest? The Incredible and EVO (in no particular order) are both great phones, and anybody that is fortunate enough to own either is very lucky.

Get the phone that works best for you in your area on the network that you want to work with, love all the cool things your new phone can do that your last phone couldn't, and let everybody else do the same thing-

To both sides of this argument: You don't have to talk $hit about other things to prove how great yours is...

I'll presume the above quote is not in response to my 9:30 PM sincere thanks to members of this forum.

If not, I wasn't talking $hit Anonimac but rather expressing my sincere thank you to members of this forum. I find repulsive your apparent disrespect of others regarding your "next hip replacement" quote, may you be BLESSED by not living long enough to be an ol' man and need a hip replacement.

That's fine with me. I'm just someone wants to read about the stuff the forum is made for. Usually when something like this starts I try to start a different thread somewhere else so as not to hijack the original thread. Going off topic for a bit is one thing.

here's a link talking about the training. It said it was being offered for the Moto Droid and Eris, but I think it would still apply.

No I'm not. Go back and re-read my Original post that started all this, and my first response to you. I was suggesting that Sprint could've put together some kind of marketing strategy because phones with similar and possibly better specs might be releasing around the same time as the Evo. By the time the Evo releases, the "lust" over it might have worn down quite a bit... just reread my posts. No use to explain myself again

My Original post:

I was just thinking... we all were aggravated with Verizon at some point about not releasing info about the Incredible, but I'm wondering how much money it's costing Spring with people holding out for the Evo now when it comes. Not to mention their current phones possibly not selling nearly enough, and then once the Evo releases, they'll have a surplus of phones, etc. that are in stock now. They should've (IMO) allowed a special trade-in to prevent customers to switching to Verizon or ATT if there is a phone that has similar specs to the Evo, with better coverage.

An example: Any phones purchased between the announcement of the Evo and the release of the Evo can be traded in for a certain percent with a 2 year contract. Phones purchased 4 months before release can be traded in for a 65% trade in value of the original purchase price. 3 months prior are worth 75% of original purchase price. 2 months = 85% and within a month, you can trade it in towards the Evo with their regular 30 day policy (if they have one).

That way they at least get people locked into a contract, instead of risk losing customers. Just had the idea and felt like posting it in my favorite thread :D

My First response to you:

That is true. As of right now, there aren't any phones in the forecast that are similar, but you never know. Something might come along. Who knows Droid 2, Nexus 2? Either of them in the summer. Maybe Verizon has something up their sleeves. I think people will give a pass on the 4G thing seeing as how early in development it is, and how few cities will carry it right away.

There's also the rumored Scorpion processor that will give phones a 1.5 Ghz processor, SUPER AMOLED screens, etc. Things are only going to get bigger (in both senses), and once they do, the Evo might not be as appealing as it was when it was originally shown.

Mine was just an obvious joke...calm down dude.. I live next to Chicago.

I think this was directed at somebody else (Steven58?) and meant joke toward them. Hence all the ;):p:D

I seriously doubt he would disrespect anyone on purpose.
