I just ordered my new Samsung Galaxy Note II. I currently have an iPhone and am very much looking forward to experiencing android. I am not a fan of cases for phones and usually opt for bumpers&screen protectors, but am not finding many bumpers for this phone. Any suggestions? Does this phone really require more than a bumper and screen protectors?

I want a 64gb card as well. Is there a certain brand I should target or avoid?
 
trust me you need a case for this phone.......one of my clients refused to put on one because he didn't like the way it looked with one on...so the other day he dropped the naked phone from his pocket to the floor ..the phone hit the floor on its back, and the glass shuttered in a billion pieces........

i have this very slim but semi protected case.....but i love the fact that it does not add additional bulk.....

I also have a 32gb sandisk mem card :) installed

Congrats! I just bid on one on eBay so hopefully I'll have mine next week.

I just ordered a 64GB Sandisk card the other day when they had their big sale. They tend to be nice from my experience.

Thanks dude! There's an hour and some left on the auction so I'm hoping I get it. This one comes with the samsung dock and spare samsung battery and a few cases :)
 
I ended up purchasing the Body Glove case. I heard it doesn't add a lot of bulk but has decent protection. We shall see.

I just checked the tracking and my phone is set to be delivered tomorrow by 3pm!!!
 
Congrats! I have my t-mobile sim ready for when mine arrives, plus my 64GB sd card arrived yesterday, I just have to find out where it ended up. I'm gonna go ahead and order a usb otg cable cause eventually I wanna use an external digital to analog converter in the car.

Which sd card did you purchase? I need to get one still and plan on a 64gb.

I'm hesitant to buy a used one, but I'm also hesitant to drop 650 (I can buy one tax free at a Navy base). :D
 
I have the OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 case and it's great. It's very slim so it won't add a lot of bulk to the phone and all the buttons/ports line up perfectly. Only downside is that it is a scratch magnet so I'll probably be replacing mine within a couple months.

As for the SD card, I use this one (which I believe a lot of other Note 2 users do as well).

The pricing for this changes from time to time. Usually you can snag it for ~$50 or so but you gotta keep an eye out for it.

What case is this, please? It looks like it has a portrait kickstand?
 
Look at Amazon, Samsung do a bespoke cove for Note 11, it replaces the rear cover and has just a flap to cover the screen. Very good quality in various colours.

My note is out for delivery today. Darn work is going to get in the way of my playtime, argh!!!

I am a little overwhelmed (in a good way) at all the customization available with this phone. I don't know where I will start, but I'm sure I will have fun no matter which direction I choose :)
 
Sure hope you don't have to work tomorrow because you'll probably be up late tonight with your new toy. Remember that this place is open 24/7 to help out with any speed bumps. :D

that's why I like being retired! when my new toys come, I can begin unwrapping them the moment the UPS/USPS/FedEx/Ontrack driver shows up at my door. :)

It was used, but looked perfect in the pictures.

Thanks! My husband is awesome and delivered it to me at work, haha :) I don't work all weekend so I will be spending a lot of quality time with my new little buddy.

I just activated it and the instructions say to charge it fully before turning it on. Boo!!! Had I activated it in the store they would not have said that...hmm...

Since 1998 I just plug the phone in and start poking buttons. Never had a battery or phone go bad yet. I think the battery charge thing is a myth. :D
 
I won't start a new thread cause this one says prettymuch the same thing as mine would. It's coming! No "That's what she said" jokes please ;)

Mine shipped from NYC today, but the shipping details online are delayed so it was at a sorting facility at 3pm and I was all pissy tonight at work cause I thought he hadn't shipped it yet lol. I think the postal service stopped saturday mail recently or hopefully they haven't yet and I can get it tomorrow, if not I'll get it Monday or Tuesday and I'm off both days so that'll be nice. Yay!

Exciting! I think that USPS still delivers parcels on Saturdays, though, so you may be in luck! Fingers crossed for you!

I charged mine fully last night and finally did some extremely minor setup today (basically got it to a functioning state but nothing more). I had a *ton* of stuff to do this morning and knew once I started playing with the phone, I'd never finish anything. So now, everything is done, and I'm free to play with it for the rest of the weekend!
 
I checked with the USPS website instead of eBay and it'll be delivered monday, which is cool cause I'm off so I won't miss the delivery. I'll be putting a note on the door for the mailman though just in case, cause I don't wanna miss it!

I already put like 5GB of music on my 64GB card so I'll probably finish filling it up tomorrow so I'm all ready :)

Didn't come today, despite the USPS website saying it would. Should be here tomorrow though.

Let the record show that using government operated mail service is always a terrible idea folks.
