Now would you really need a stylus for that??

I've been sold on the Incredible as the best Android phone anytime soon.

But now there's been news of other phones coming sooner than I thought. Sprint's EVO sounds great, but I can't go back to Sprint.

Just saw news that the Samsung Galaxy S went through FCC approval and is destined for AT&T sometime this spring/summer.

This phone has some cool features:
- Graphics chip much faster than Incredible, faster then iPhone 3GS
- 720p video recording
- 4" super AMOLED screen, supposed to be good in sunlight
- Front facing camera

Only thing I really don't like about it is that I think it may have a plastic screen and not glass. I assume the Incredible's is glass, but does anyone know if its hardened or scratch resistant? My iPhone is very scratch resistant unlike my G1.

I don't mean to sound like I am bragging when I say this...but I have had more phones than one 1 person should have had in a lifetime...from my experience Samsung phones are built good, and their screens look top notch. But I would have you go pick up a Samsung Mythic or and Omnia 2 (their current flagship) and see how bad the touch experience is. I realize that the Bada is going to be a capacitive screen unlike their previous phones with resistive screens. But all touch screens are not made equal, Samsung will have to totally scrap their previous designs for the Bada to have any chance of survival. The screen since it is capacitive should be made with glass on top.

I think Rookie thought some of our normal Steven58 jabbing was directed at him which if you didn't know the full story could definitely seem bad, but Rookie, if you're reading this, I assure you that none of those posts were made to disrespect you in any way.

Yeah, I get that totally- I just mean in general tonight people sound like they are a little more edgy than usual- too much excitement for us all.

@Rookie789- Anonimac really is a great guide and if you read through this thread you will soon see that there is a lot of joking back and forth- especially in regards to Steven58 being an old man ( he's really only 51) we kid because we love. Kind of like one big incredible family:D

I suppose we are but I think we're all secretly dreaming of a surprise early release from VZW. At least I am. But I'm happy to have the (sorta)concrete date from BB to fall back on.

I did some looking after seeing that post that sense wouldn't go into landscape mode. The nearest version I could think to read about was Sense on the Desire. And on the Desire, according to the reviews I read, Sense DOES automatically switch over to landscape mode. I don't know what it will do in terms of docking, etc but I'm sure HTC has thought that through. The USB port is on the side which is a good sign for docks and I can't see HTC/VZW being happy to let the potential revenue from docks etc float away.

Thanks for checking on that - was a little worried about that when they were saying sense did do landscape

I don't like the idea of plastic for scratching.

But regarding touch sensitivity, the Pre is also plastic and it seemed pretty responsive. My HTC G1 is not as sensitive as my iPhone.

I would definitely prefer glass. Does anyone know if the Incredible will be using a glass screen??

We could add another line to our account and move are number to it and put a dumb phone on the other line. This would be like adding a new account, then we can turn around and cancel the dumb phone line. Maybe, this would word to get a better price and we can upgrade in a year. The big thing for me on a 1 year plan means I will not need the extended warranty saving me 7 dollars per month. Total saving of 84 dollars minus 70 dollars= 14 dollars to the good.

I am not sure if this would work and hopefully somebody who works for Verizon on here can help with this.

The EW is only $2 a month- the rest of that is insurance against lost, stolen, and physical damage..

I'm starting to think this whole thread, nay, the whole world is shopped... Columbus shopped the map to make us all believe the world isn't flat; the moon landing- totally shopped; kennedy assassination- shopped by the mafia, the cia, jack ruby, and the communists...

You know you *could* be onto something there...it would explain a LOT!

complete hogwash. It would be illegal for them to sell a phone as new when it's not.

Nowhere do they say in paperwork it's been tested, used, or refurbished.

VZW reps say crap like that because they know BB honors rebates instantly. Fact is, BB Mobile knows more about the phones than the d bags in the Verizon stores. Like the guy who tried to tell me the Eris was , and I quote, "way better than the Motorola".

On that same visit, a girl working there said "we have nothing better than the BB Storm 2".

I think Verizon gets their employees from Walmart once they get fired.

Unfortunately, I think it depends on the store(s) and individual rep that you get. I've definitely had underwhelming service at BOTH BB Mobile and VZW Corporate. BB Mobile couldn't figure out (with 2 or so reps trying) how to get the onscreen keyboard to work on my Voyager. Then the end of last summer, when we went into a VZW corporate store to activate a short term prepaid phone, I asked the rep is VZW had any plans in the future to carry any Android phones. His response, "what's Android, never heard of it"...I had to walk him through it. *sigh* Then the manager at that same store was definitely on top of things and was willing to help me setup an unusual phone number change for free. So it all depends on the individual, IMHO.

Is it me or are people on here a little testy lately?

Definitely not you. Been a testy evening. Maybe people are upset the w/e's over??

I don't think Samsung's Android layer is as good as sense either.

And you'd have to go with AT&T!

Hey Rookie, Anonimac was busting Steven58's balls. It had nothing to do with you. You totally misinterpreted.

I'm new to this forum (3 days) and can only base my thoughts upon what appeared to be disrespectful from Anonimic's response to my posts. I came here for "Incredible" information to what I presumed an informational forum and did not expect personal derogatory comments in lieu of facts to my questions/comments.

Comments by long time members of this forum are appreciated but may be misunderstood by new contributors if it appears personal attacks to their posts, I'm here as a friend not a foe.

I appreciate your comments but think Anonimac should personally explain the intention in his posts, he made them.

stereo speakers on a phone are a pretty pointless thing, actually.

first, the space between the speakers will always be less than the space between your ears - so what's the point? it may be stereo in theory, but unless you've got a skull the size of a ferret's you're not going to get much out of it. many manufacters tried to make up for this with stereo "3d" type effects to enhance spatialization. personally, i really don't like those effects.

second, you're powering two speakers instead of one from the same battery.

just my opinion.

Have you ever heard a phone with dual speakers. They are incredibly loud and crisp. Trust me it makes a big difference and im pretty sure supplying power to two speakers isnt gonna drain your battery. Just go to a Verizon store and check out the Omnia 2.

I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm sorry to hear you felt that way, and I encourage you to stick around. I'm willing to bet you'll find that the people on here try to be helpful, and we have a lot of very knowlegeable people who can help answer your questions.

From where I'm standing (sitting) anonimac wasn't responding to you at all- He was giving Steven58 (our resident class clown/funnyman/jokester/macaroni grill lover) a litttle bust in the stones.

Relax, rookie, you're in good company- have fun here...

Some have suggested that VZW will announce/release 2 new phones a week for 3 weeks. I dont think I agree.

If it was known that this is how VZW is doing it then why would anyone buy a device during week one, when they have no idea if a device is coming in week 3 that perhaps they would like better? Far fewer phones would be sold in the earlier weeks, and VZW can't afford to lose that weekly revenue.

The only way they could make the announce/release 2 phones per week for three weeks strategy work is if that strategy was kept completely secret --- and of course it has not.

I think it far more likely that VZW will announce 6 at one time and release them either at the same time or over a period of weeks.
