I HAVE Adobe FP on my extsdcard but cannot figure out how to 'install' it

Any help would make me happy:p

Yep it'sme again! I just ried to view a Facebook vid but can't cause I ain't got no Adobe flash installed...BUT I have the .zip on my sdcard. When I have tried to install it I simply can't

How would you suggest I approach this most serious and important task Sir? :D

...although, since I'm running 4.1.1 am I going to have issues? Just read the pre-installation cautions and basically anything beyond 4.0 is if-y...

What to do what to do...:(

It doesn't ALWAYS work on Jellybean. It's known, and will never be fixed. It does work in Boat Browser, and usually in Dolphin. the stock browser will have very limited flash functions no matter what. Bottom line is I have been using flash on Jellybean for about a year and I haven't noticed the slightest issue it caused. It just doesn't work 100% of the time. I'd say you are safe to flash. Just count on semi-limited compatibility. And boat Browser is by far the best android browser anyway, so no biggie having to use that.

Well I guess that my very first vid I try to watch AFTER installing Adobe fp says that Adobe Flash is required to view this...but it IS installed! Is this what is meant by it works most of the time but not always?

What browser are you using? Try different ones. Boat browser generally works for me, but sometimes I have to go to Dolphin, sometimes the default browser works. If you try to watch flash videos in chrome it will always give you that message regardless of what version of Android you are on. Your best bet is to download boat Browser from the market, open the settings, set flash to "always on" and load the page there.

I never thought about that! I been using Chrome for some time now...

I'll look at using Boat a see what happens... thanks :)

Just curious, since you have been using Boat for a while, can the full blown website be accessed in Boat? I personally do not care for the 'mobile' version of a website! I have been looking in settings and such but cannot seem to locate it -IF it's even there! Thanks :)

Sure its in the settings. It's called desktop mode. Their is also a function called night that will invert your browser for massive battery savings.

Not sure if an upgrade version has removed that preference but I have been all over the 'settings' and cannot seem to find it!

Any chance of a screen shot?

Menu button > settings > page content settings > set user agent =desktop

The Adobe setting is right below it set to = always on

Reboot then good to go.

Aha! Got it thanks :p

To enable inverted mode. Hit the menu key, the swipe left on the menu and hit night. Make sure the bar is slid to the left and all of your backgrounds go from white to light gray. Use it when indoors and get an extra hour or so of screen time. If you could use some extra battery. Boat also has full screen mode where the top bar dissapears for more real estate. It will take a couple of days to get totally comfortable, but it has been well worth it for me as I am a heavy user.

One other strange occurrence I see with Flash video - I prefer to use Opera Mobile Browser, but most of the time it balks at playing a flash video. However there is one exception which always works. If I am on the RC groups forum, it will never fail to play a You Tube video directly from within the forum post. Try it from pretty much any other site, and most of the time it will not work.

For me to view flash on my Verizon GS3 I had to install the flash apk and also download the Boat browser app. Then in the settings, allow flash. And boom. flash. doesn't work on my stock browser nor chrome.

Same here. I knew Chrome wasn't getting it but yanking it out of the stock browser is just cruel. But honestly, Boat really can't be beat as a browser on android anyway.

I don't get what the big deal is with certain vendors wanting to not support Flash. There are untold numbers of websites that *require* Flash just to view their content. One such site is the National Geographic Magazine Archives, which I like to read sometimes. If you are using a browser that doesn't fully support Flash you can't even operate that site's issue index interface. I really doubt that sites with a lot of time and money invested in a Flash user interface are going to just change everything to some other kind of interface because some individuals decree Flash to be "evil". :)

I am trying out Boat Browser in my Jelly Bean ROM tablet, to access this site. One thing I don't like is that Boat Browser is not allowing me to use the left/right cursor movement keys (for editing and typo correction) while typing this using Super Keyboard. Oddly, the up/dn cursor keys work.

It is not a matter of the Vender not wanting to support Flash, Adobe is trying to phase out Flash and use Adobe Air.

Two words. Touchpal Keyboard. You can thank me later.

WhoDoo - do you use the pro version? If so what's better about it?

I've been trying out Boat for a couple weeks now and gotta say I really like it so far :)

I already use Touchpal on my Galaxy S 3. :) It is very nice, and I did try it on my tablet. But I chose Super Keyboard on my tablet specifically to GET the cursor movement keys, because the tablet has too much ground to cover to use a Swype style entry when in landscape, which is how I use it all the time.

So I type on it, with the onscreen Super Keyboard. And because typing on a piece of glass, with no tactile feedback to tell me when I am straying off the keys, causes typos, I like to be able to easily correct what I have typed in error. Trying to position the cursor with my finger and get it in the right place between characters is just too frustrating. So I found a keyboard that has cursor arrow keys in it. :) They work great on any kind of document or website - EXCEPT when using Boat Browser.

I don't know why, but I have seen every different browser I use on Android react differently to the same websites visited with each of them. Some browsers cause serious typing lag on a forum dialog box like this one. Some browsers seem to cause unacceptable lag in general on many websites. I have tried a lot of Android browsers, and have narrowed them down to using either Opera, Firefox, or the stock browser, selecting one based upon what I am doing. I've not found any yet I like better, but that is not to say by any means that I would think any of those 3 are 'best'. Each of them have their headaches, as far as I am concerned.

I can't say I have ever found ANY Android browser I don't have some kind of problems using, so have never found one I would truly say I "like". It comes down to lesser evils. ;) I use the one that gives me the least problems, based on what website I am going to visit and how it handled that site when I tried it.
