Where's JellyBean???

Oh god I hope not. Lmao.
If the turn the Onex into the new thunderbolt that will piss a lot of people off.

If they do, I'll root and send pictures to at&t of me and my carrier branded phone doing all the things they disabled out when they mucked up the ROM

But in all seriousness the reason the thunderbolt took so long was because of HTC, not Verizon (as far as my understanding goes). We have confirmed that at&t has our update, so hopefully that won't happen.

in the event that ATT does decide to release the jelly bean update(fingers crossed:D), would i even be able to receive it if i am on the Straight talk network (or a MNVO)? and if not, what are my options in the event i cannot?

btw does anyone know of a date when they might release it??

Is the phone carrier branded to AT&T? (you can check by if it has the at&t logo above the screen). If not, you should be able to get the update already. If so, then you're carrier branded to AT&T, and you're stuck waiting with the rest of us for the update. You should get it at the same time as the rest of us.

Unfortunately, no one has any idea when it's going to be released. We are keeping up with it in this thread: http://androidforums.com/htc-one-x-xl/639352-wheres-jellybean.html if you want to keep an eye on it.

Ohh yeah I do have the att one x , but I'm not technically on the att network I bought the phone a while back on craigslist and went to straight talk, I just wasnt sure if because I'm technically not on their network if I'm still able to receive the jelly bean update

My understanding is you should be able to get it when at&t releases it for their handsets

How is it working on Straight Talk? I'm going to do the same thing in May.

straight talk is fairly good comparing to paying for an att contract price, no dropped calls . one or two pic texts that couldent send but nothing too drastic . data is good sometimes it's a lil slow but hey u can't beat 45 $ and I hear t mobile's part of straight talk is a lot better in regards to data. and its really easy to activate and port you're old number I was on metro PCs before and it took less than ten minutes to get the phone work with my old number as well

Why would they even release it for AT&T now? The new HTC One will be out in a couple months. We are done for!

I'm sure they will still push out the update eventually. When who knows, I'm loving the nexus 4. I don't plan on getting anything other than some sort of nexus. Unless I lte comes to my area.

Lol I would hope so, since apparently they have jb for onex it would be a waste of money and time to not do so and a ton of pissed off people (which would include me;)) . normally I would put a ROM or two on my phone if no update is presented but honestly the onex's steps to doing so are a Lil confusing as compared to the nexus 7 which all I do is download them straight to the tab and do the normal steps

so this is the new top google search article for the update:

AT&T HTC One X Jelly Bean update frustrations » Phone Reviews

As happy as it makes me to see some media acknowledging that customers are unhappy, I'd be happier to see every major tech news source lash out at AT&T about it. Maybe something would actually happen then.

Good stuff. I check out the at&t forums and there's 9 pages of comments and at&t hasn't even answered. Shows they don't give a *%+@!!!!! about their customers.

That has been well established :P

Seriously though, this is insane. Once I graduate and I get my own plan, you can bet it's not gonna be with a carrier-branded phone, at least not on AT&T.

Honestly, I wish there was a way to call up the testing lab and get a answer with a real time frame as to how long before they finish bloating up the software.

I've been with AT&T for a really long time now. And they keep getting worse and worse. It is complete bullshit.
But oh well, there is honestly nothing anyone can do. They don't care about their customers. No matter how bad they complain.

I wonder if they will update it all. It seems like the New One is coming out in April or May. I wouldn't be surprised if they totally abandoned the original One X.

I don't think they will. I think they'll give it the update, even if just to justify all the R&D money they'd already spent on bloating it up and testing it

Well.....HTC announced the new One X will be released on March 22 for Sprint and at&t. With that being said I really don't see the Original One X getting 4.1 anytime soon
.If anyone has a video on how to install Viper XL for the at&t version of the One X please send that link. I'm dumb when it comes to rooting. So a step by step instructions would be nice. I done waiting on this update. Hopefully I brick this phone and have no choice but to buy a Nexus.
