Although I'm not running stock firmware anymore... It's probably similar to how I disabled the beats notification... In manage apps you should be able to find and turn off the notification.

When I found the app, the selection area for "notifications on/off" was grayed out, so I can't disable it there. Thanks anyway!

Sorry, I meant disable it. Just disable the app that's called power saver notify or whatever it is. (not on stock anymore so can't be more specific, sorry!)

Plus my husband also got it, for his HTC Vivid which was not suppose to get JB. My phone does have some of the features that people describe for JB.

Mine does this too. It just says 'checking for updates' for a few seconds, and then pops right back to the check for updates screen. Which is different than my wife's phone (also HTC One X), which will check for updates and then show a "no updates found" message.

BTW, her's updated to 4.1.1 on Sunday morning. I could not get my phone to take the update all day, and it still will not. Any ideas?

The update is rolling out to IMEI batches. it's possible that since there is an update, but your IMEI batch has not been selected to receive it yet, that you are in limbo
 
No one really knows. It's about the same as the other way, but some people say it allowed them to get an update faster. That was the way I always checked back before I rooted.
 
I can't believe people are still waiting for JB! That's crazy!I got it here in Australia about 3 months ago.
 
Any update yet from people who are still waiting? I know AT&T is doing a soft launch, so lots of people are having to wait for their devices to get the blessing.
 
Do you know if we are getting 4.1.2? My wife's Samsung s2 got it recently but I'm still on 4.1.1
