I'm sorry but this whole Kin idea embarrasses me to be on the Verizon network. I understand that this device is being marketed towards tweens and teens, but knowing that my monthly bill helped further this project makes me want to demand a refund.
Meh. They have to pay the bills somehow. If they only put out high-end Android devices to power users, we'd probably end up bitching that their network can't handle the load. I hope LOTS of parents buy these for their kids and tweens, all nice and loaded up with texting and data packages. That's were Verizon makes their real money, which might mean a faster LTE rollout for the rest of us. :D

A bit of a stretch maybe, but it was like when Porsche started building their Cayenne SUV. Everybody bitched that THE German sports car maker shouldn't be building an SUV. But guess what? That car kept them in business and today lets them build cool stuff like the Cayman.

Call it the dark side of business. :D

Respectfully to all,

Looking back at the last big device (Droid), there was already solid info leaked at the two week window point. Given the lack of announcements, are folks here going to continue to believe the Incredible is releasing on 4/29? Perhaps that is when they will anounce pre-order, but there is nothing firm or substantiated to suggest 4/29 is happening for actual sell-through to consumers.

The "150K in one warehouse" is a red flag IMO, not to mention the "inventory control" person at a Verizon store (no such position) got info, etc. The "Big launch Monday" shows how folks can grasp on to something and conclude what they want.

Also, how would there already be an extended battery for aftermarket? If any of this pans out, I will eat the biggest crow (with A1, please) that I can find, but nothing makes sense for a 4/29 launch.

Seriously, has any other device had an extended battery ready for aftermarket already? If so, why have the prototypes the vender used to design and test the aftermarket battery not leaked out as info as well (point being, why no prototypes or samples more visible yet)?

If there are no substantial leaks this week- end of April is not happening.

Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays?

I kid, I kid. ;)

Except for the leaked Best Buy docs saying 29th launch date, which has been confirmed by multiple VZW sources as a VZW document, and so far it's 2 for 2 on which phones will be highlighted in the BB weekly circular.

LG VS740 is coming soon not sure if thats the aloha or totally different...it is an android based LG though that i thought I read was 2Q announcement

maybe verizon has given out the phone and made people sign confidentiality wavers that would be very easy to do right? Like hey check out our new phone coming out, start making accessories and when we announce it your more than welcome to start selling! BTW I do not think the name will be the HTC incredible, I just do not see that happening. I know the user guide says it but I still would bet on it not being that when it is finally released

We have one wine cellar on the line. What are you willing to lose?:p

I received an advertisement from verizon in the mail today. Said we could early upgrade my husband's and daughter's phones to smart phones. Hubby was bragging "I'm gonna get a phone smarter than yours!" My reply "a phone is only as smart as the user!" he laughed and dropped the conversation. lol!:D

The HTC incredible will be released tommorrow. Why not? It is a good day for a realease.

That is my dream I will be having while in Criminal Law class tonight....now wait is that Family Law?... either way they are condusive to napping.....and the first one that wakes me up, I will be pm'ing grandmadroid.. I heard she has a gun.....:p

ah-ha - but where did droid leaks come from? VZ or Moto? Maybe HTC runs a tighter ship. I don't think your theory is applicable. That was holiday season, new OS, etc. This is super hush double secret probation type stuff. :)

Maybe the theory has worth and I just don't like anything saying it could be longer.

I work at Wal Mart and just for fun today i checked our "Wire" which is basically a company only internet webpage. I searched for HTC to see what would pop up and I saw a newsletter that was dated 4/9/10 so I opened it up and it had 6 phones, some named and some not named. One of them being an HTC with an 8mp camera which obviously is the Incredible but it didn't have an item/UPC number. But the date was confirmed for 4/29 for Sam's clubs and Wal Mart's with Wireless Center's inside. It did have it by region, ie. Northeast, South, etc. And some it said N/A by. But the Northeast division did say something like full shipment or something like that by it. I only remember that one because I live in the Northeast :) I had the paper printed out and all but I left it sit around somewhere today and didn't have time to reprint before I left :( So take this info for what its worth, just thought i'd share what I found out today with everyone here that is as excited to get this phone as i am :)

Oh i think you know...;)
I know, I know. But when?

I went into my Local corporate Verizon store today, shortly before 1pm EST (Microsoft / Verizon announcement) and talked to a sales associate who was completely unaware of the Microsoft / Verizon announcement today. She said that a lot of people come in knowing more about new products than they (sales associates) know. Funny stuff.

Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays?

I agree! This phone is coming 4/29. We have confirmed that everything in the BBY internal document, so far, is correct. The last two adverts confirmed the Verizon stuff correctly.

Sit tight the Incredible journey is about to begin!

Droid Predator
Droid Apollo
Droid Incredible maybe?

Something like that

Working on another piece of information would fit in with the rest of the puzzle but have to put it through the ringer...

Will post later this evening whether it's a dead end or not...either way, you'll know.

Thanks buddy. Also i have one quick question, when you say "internal memo added" in the evergreen thread, what exactly does that mean?

In regard to the extended batteries being ready already: Wouldn't it be just like Verizon to understand that this device is going to get a lot of use, and then work with HTC to tell them to include only a 1300mAh battery just so they could make the extra bucks from all the suckers...... errrrr... customers who know they'll need a bigger battery than that to get them through the day?!?!?!?

with sprints promoting the heck out of the evo verizon needs to release the incredible at least 30 days before sprints drops the evo otherwise the normal smart phone users (i/e iphone bb) will look at the evo and not care that vzw has better service or w/e they will only see a cool new phone 4.3 screen 4g... not that it matters its crappy 4g but look how many ppl have at&t just for the iphone because they were "told" the iphone is cool and they bought it, ppl are sheep they believe what commercials and advertising tells them

And just how big would this news be, if it pans out?
