REALLY, REALLY disappointed this phone won't be on Verizon
I think Verizon is to blame there...not HTC. If I were on Verizon, I would be pretty upset too so I don't blame you.
:banghead:2300mah? HTC is hoping that their mindset will keep them afloat, but that's a fail for sure.

Yes and no, ya know?
I get great life (8 hours screen on, wifi) on my LTEvo and average over 16 hours/day no matter what, with a 2000 mAh battery.
Maybe the 2300 mAh with this setup will perform similarly. Those of us grown accustomed to and ok with 16 hours/day or so won't care.
But even that performance isn't enough for some folks. Stick in 3100 mAh and I doubt you'd get more buyers - a day is a day, and that's all I've ever asked for within a reasonable budget.
It's the non-removable battery that's making it a non-starter for many. People losing juice roaming with crappy signals (either kind) and doing a lot of talking for work - just need more.
In my opinion.
PS - bet ya the Sprint version won't be standard.
On the plus side, one of the hands-ons I've read did say it can be turned offPPS - that new live crap on the homescreen looks catastrophic, both as eye candy and as the ultimate battery waster.

Should at least give us a good loud ringI like the dual speakers with amps idea though. Not sure how much actual use I will get out of it. If it uses those for the speakerphone functionality, that would be cool.
No doubt, no argument.
I made that more as an indictment against the blogosphere. They evaluate everything with just how it comes out of the box - and HTC turns on everything out of the box.
Once the milk labeled - HTC Sense 5, live screens, etc etc, wastes battery - gets spilled, there's no putting it back in the glass. Instead, we get endless posts of "I know all about HTC having never tried a newer one, Sense is bloated and the battery life sucks."
One guy hits the forums with all social networking turned on to sync every 2 minutes and a bad signal and then it's a fact and a flame war - the One does too suck.
Blogosphere never says either: I found this feature useless and non-existent on other phones, so to compare fairly, I turned it off - or - Ok, if you like this new feature, here's how it affects your battery life. They just say HTC suxorz.
And then we start it up again in 2014 when HTC decides that people will love their non-replaceable battery again.
LoL - it's just a phone, I'll stop there.
But I will say that the new camera is intriguing, hardware-wise.

Be interesting to see how it all works in practice, but it does look a very nice device, and I'll give them credit for doing more than just a spec bump. I hope this does pull things around for them.

After experiencing the 3100mah removable battery, I'll never take any less, EM. The Note 2, even with the big screen and having all of my emails constantly push and sync, GPS active all the time, screen on auto, bluetooth enabled and connected on my commute to and from work, I get an average of 20-22 hours. And that's all without having rooted yet. I've never been able to come close to that, even with the Photon, which had awesome battery life initially. And with the extra Samsung batteries w/ stand that I was able to purchase for 50% off, due to a Samsung promotion, I never worry about actually using my phone a lot, knowing that I may need to charge soon. Comes in so handy when going to events and constantly turning the phone on and off to use the camera (either video or pics).
Only thing that comes close to that type of experience is the razr maxx or razr maxx hd, from any reports that I've seen. Were it not for my experience with the Note 2, I might still think the same, but now the bar has been raised, so anything less than my current experience will not be good enough for me. I've also come to realize how important a removable battery is to me. At first, I didn't think it would be an issue, but it will be a must for my future phones as well.
looks interesting to me....I am an htc fan overall, but I must say that this is the first time since owning the OG Evo that the ONE is not an automatic purchase in my mind......oh and another thing....the whole android beam, Samsung beam etc. thing is important to me. Samsung nailed the whole beaming thing to me...really cool to be able to share just about anything that way. with just about everyone I know that I would share content with owning a newer Sammy device, I'm the only one that can't participate in he sharing party...would really love to do this despite having an htc device...perhaps the ONE will allow for that to happen without it being more than a little bit of an inconvenience (3rd party apps etc.). ...also wondering if sprint will make some changes to make this the next evo, or if the evo line will even live on....this is a tough one for me....someone put things in perspective please....can't do this alone
