Phone donation for rom creation (lol rhyming)

Okay so, if anyone here has come from the Evo V 4G, (or looks at my signature lol) you know I'm the creator on the midnightrom series. For a while now I've been trying to get some money together, both with donations and personal money, to buy one of these phones so I can dev for you all.... Buttttttt it doesn't seem like it's going to happen, at least for a while... All the cash I have is going into replacing the motherboard on my pc. (see magic smoke http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_smoke)

Soooooooo. My question to everyone who reads this is, if you switch to a newer phone, a different phone, or whatever happens, and have a spare virgin mobile gs2 laying around, if you could kindly donate it to me so I can help dev for the community.

Normally I wouldn't ask anyone for something like this, but I've been getting a lot of messages lately asking when/if ill dev for virgin mobiles newest phone. Since I don't think I'll be able to buy one any time soon, I thought asking politely would be the next best option ^_^

I would love to donate some money to you as I loved your MNR on the Evo V. It's a shame more devs don't make the jump to the GS2. It really is a great phone. To me it seems that we are in desperate need of some custom ROMs for this phone. The stock os has gotten very plain and boring to me at least.
 
ive been waiting for a rom made for virgin mobile and somthing real easy to flash im on kuban kernel and rooted using rjwilcos one click method lol so far no problems .. i would definetly donate towards this !!!everyone should throw in 20$$ and get the development moving serious ,coming from triumph the devs are very active on the threads over there and love everyone for taking there time to dev!!!!!ty
 
im at work when i get home im in for 20$ like i said gotta set pay pal account up lol havent done pay pal yet but now its a must whos all in???

I loved your roms on the HTC EVO V 4G so I can't wait. I am actually surprised how slow the devs are getting to this phone.

Development is not at a stand still. I hav been doing work to make the cm10.1(4.2.1) build for the epic 4g touch work for our phone. Once I make sure MMS works using the modifications I made to the source code I will be maintain our code base and keeping it updated so we can have built from source cm10.1 for our phone and not have to use the sprint build and hack to get MMS working!

Thank you very much. Let me clarify I did not post here to steal his donations. I just wanted to instil some more hope that work is going to be done for this phone!

And I am looking forward for development to take off once more people get this phone!
 
In the meantime, if anyone has CWM can they do a backup and send me it? Extracting stock odin backups seems to be impossible @_@

If you have Linux, grab a tool called exodin and use it to pull apart an already extracted odin one click package( like if you run the initial .exe on windows and it asks you to extract it somewhere like C:\Odin-OC, then grab the .exe from inside that folder). It will pull out the kernel zImage, modem.bin, hidden.img and the factoryfs.img, which is what you want. Then you can mount the factoryfs.img in Linux and pull all the files from it.

But if someone has a stock Nandroid it would be much easier lol!!

Your work on the EVO v was great I thank once you get going on this phone we will see great things try a port of GA 10 from the epic 4g touch an we will see how good that goes I thank will be great to you work on that!!! Have at it! Can' t wait to see the Greatness on this phone!!
 
Sorry to see this thread has seemed to die out I am sad to see this we are all on prepayed l wish I was aible to give you the money you need to start!!

Just an update for everyone:

I went through and added everything up. I still need $145.30 >.<
May be a few more weeks T_T
