Root [International] AdAway blocking clickable links in Android 4.1.2

This morning I updated to 4.1.2, and kept root. but now AdAway is blocking click able links on web pages (most notably gamefaqs.com). If I turn off AdAway and restore the default hosts file then everything works fine. But when I enable AdAway then the links become broken. I tried adding *gamefaqs* to the white list in adaway, but that didn't make any difference. everything was working fine yesterday when I had 4.1.1, but since I updated to 4.1.2, AdAway is broken. Any ideas on how to fix this or should I just go back to 4.1.1?
Thanks.

Gamefaqs is not blocked on my 4.1.2 system. Disable adaway host file in the app, clear data on the app, uninstall, resinstall and download new hosts

Also is it all links to gamefaq? The top results in Google are advert if you see those so that wouldn't work

Hmmmm

So I have 3 entries for game faq in my hosts file but I've not found a link it will block.

Got an example link?

Nope, it's any link on Gamefaqs.
Here is the results of looking in the hosts file for gamefaqs

I think I got it fixed, at least a work around solution for now anyway. I went into the host sources in AdAway and disabled one at a time until the links worked (the 3rd host source seemed to be the one blocking the links), so I unchecked that one and everything seems to be working. Banner ads are still blocked, but I can click on gamefaqs links now.

Out of interest, can you now please run the command above from an android terminal emulator and post the results?

Thanks. I just had this question today specifically for gamefaqs. It is the only site I have had this issue(and gamespot). Is this some ingenious way they have gotten around people using ad blockers or just a poorly coded site? Disabling the 3rd check of the hosts so far hasn't made any more ads appear but I haven't really used my phone to browse much since disabling it.

I have seen reports that disabling java fixes it as well but I don't like disabling java entirely just because of one site.

I dont get the question.

Its a command line tool (means you type stuff into a terminal) to find an instance of a word in a file.

For example, if you have a text file and you want to know if it contains your name, grep can tell you
