I've heard they might try to hybrid it, like an overlay or dual boot. I doubt with the mometum android has going for it they would abandon it.

WebOS integrated into the sense UI would make a near perfect Android phone. I looked at the Palm Pre until I tried using its keyboard.. which was literally impossible for me.

Just saying hello. Long time lurker limping by with an Env2 - not-so-patiently awaiting my first smartphone. Beyond excited...and had to join as my excitement builds..my incredible...INCREDIBLE excitement!
im there with you. nice to see someone in the same boat :)

The nexus one isn't part of the "6" devices verizon will launch on this "journey"...I don't know where ppl are drawing that conclusion from. Unless it is sold in stores...which is very unlikely.

And just a question, as I type this on my iPod touch and prepare to sell it when the incredible comes out, in sense ui, when u are typing:
a) does a double space bar tap create a period at the end of a sentence?
b) when u are typing and need a symbol and press the symbol then press space, does the keyboard switch back to the qwerty keyboard?

These are two super awesome little quirks I've come to enjoy on the iPod touch keyboard...just wondering if they will be on sense ui 2.1

Hey Anon, not sure if you can answer this or not, but was your source that's supposed to be getting the Inc. a VZW employee?

Or is his hands on time for official device training?

The best buy page had it listed at $599.99. Most people are guessing it will be $200 with a 2 year contract.

is that for new subscribers only?....I am coming up on my New Every Two this week...Contract expires soon too

not holding my breath, but maybe I can get my Incredible even for less....we'll see if my powers of persuasion still work ;)

I tried a Palm Pre also. WebOS was awesome, but keyboard was terrible. Slider got old & battery life was bad. It would be better for Google to buy Palm and integrate WebOS into Android. Doesn't make sense for HTC to keep a separate UI from Android, in the long run.

Looks like we are getting closer to the release, I can't wait to pawn my Eris off on my wife and get the incredible. Luckily she is going to be sweet and let me use her upgrade, I am sure I will pay for it eventually.

I'm in the exact same boat as trowpa (EnV2 and all). I've been enjoyed reading the thread for a few weeks now. I really can't wait for this phone to arrive!

anyone live in middlesex county, nj. Just trying to see so i can avoid the stores you guys are going to so i don't have to wait to get my incredible

So I finally made the switch today from AT&T an d my iPhone) to Verizon. I needed to switch sooner than later because I get no AT&T service in my new office, my daughter will be going to college in the fall where the AT&T coverage is not good, and her cell phone just died. I know that I wanted to wait for the Incredible, but...I gave in and got her a new phone today (a Blackberry Tour). I spoke to the salesman about my situation and told him I most likely wanted to wait for the Incredible. He went to check about the Incredible and came back and told me that they do not have a release date in the store, but he did not deny the phone exists. I decided that I would get a phone today, rather than have an AT&T account for me, and a Verizon account for my daughter. I ended up getting an Eris, with the sales rep knowing that I would be returning the phone within the first 30 days. If for some reason the release date for the Incredible is more than 30 days, I'm going to get a phone with no bells and whistles, and when the Incredible arrives I will add a line, then switch my phone number to the Incredible. I chose the Eris so I could get familiar with the Android OS before I get my new phone. Before I left, the salesman told me that I may grow to like my Eris and won't want to change phones. I showed him the specs for the Incredible that I had taken to the store with me. He understood why I would be making a change!

You don't need "n" - the phone isn't fast enough to make any use of it. You aren't doing anything that requires 300mb/s transmit speeds that a 54mb/s can't handle. Most if not all wifi spots only have the g-band anyway.

your flash ROM on your phone is your limitation not the g band on the wifi.

I knew this phone was not going to have wireless "n"

N isn't just speed, it increases the range as well.

I agree. I just didn't see Google in the rumor mill earlier. I was hoping Google would buy Palm as soon as I saw rumors that they might be selling. That would be my perfect phone OS.

Not sure on double tap space, but hitting the period shouldn't take long anyways (RE: takes one button press). I'd assume it will look very similar to the evo's which looks like this.

Does this forum remind anyone else of The Money Pit with Tom Hanks?

Walter: When I do get the [information], how long will the [release] take?
Curly: Two weeks.
Walter: Two weeks? Two weeks?
Curly: You sound like a parakeet there. "Two weeks! Two weeks!"
Walter: Well, two weeks. It- it's amazing.
Curly: Amazing nothing. It'll be a regular miracle.

I keep hearing the part in Total Recall when Arnold is dressed up as the robot head lady trying to get through customs/security on Mars, but she malfunctions and keeps repeating "Two weeks".

It's kinda annoying that Sprint users get to see so much coverage and hands on vids of the EVO months before release when all we have is some stick pictures in a user guide when the incredible is days from release.

I had an eris for 29 days, and did not like it. i loved the android OS...o just found it slow and the lag was so frustrating....i am hoping the Incredible is much better.
