Root [International] How to perform total uninstall of app!!!!

ballie

Lurker
Hello everybody!!!!
Can any one of u friends help me with my issue???
I want to perform a total uninstall of an random app,apk in my Galaxy S3!
When i say total or complete uninstall i mean everything that the app can leave behind on my phone!
Thanks in advance

There is no way of doing that. Uninstall the app via play (if thats how you installed it) or via android settings > applications manager

Then you need to know what folders it created on your sd card and delete them manually.

There is no way to completely remove everything.

The best way is to go to Menu>system settings>application manager.
Click on the app that you would like to uninstall, but before you hit "Uninstall" clear the "data" and clear "cache" this will ensure that anything associated with the app will not be left behind. I do this for all the apps that I am going to uninstall.

How hard can it be after all ;-)

depends on the app. Not all apps use logical naming conventions.

Sure if its a game, we know its in /sdcard/Android/data/ and so are some other apps, but also they may be in other folders too.

You pose an impossible question. I cannot quantify difficulty. For me who knows a fair bit about android and works in IT (so use logic, reason and methodical approaches daily), it would be easy. I cannot say for other people, but depending on the app, it could be quite hard.

Oh I know SU.....you missed my smiley?? ;) [I just discovered tapatalk smileys....]

I sometimes tend to try a little humour.....I only worked in telecom/IT for 39 years!!!!

But, Android is relatively new to me, since the good olde ZTE Blade.

However it ain't so different, when working on a rooted device, than most Unix based OS's.

That's when the fun starts :D
