Root [Sprint/Cricket] S3 wont root

Ive been trying to root my S3 running 4.1.1, but it just wont work. Ive tried a couple times, I can go into Clockworkmod Recovery, and the Superuser app was even installed in the process. But, I still cant get root access no matter how many times I try. Any help would be appriciated.

Sounds like you need to re-flash the root files from your recovery.

What guide did you follow so I can take a look at the files you flashed

I just tried, and it told me I needed root access to do it. I'm going to try a different method and see how it works out

One can not make a back up with CWM unless rooted. Just saying.

It worked for me. I got CWM recovery installed and was able to make a nand before I "achieved" Root. Was it a true backup? I don't know, I didn't need to use it. (knock on wood) But the file was there and was about the right size.

Like I said, I'm a noob, so I'm still pretty green. But I'm 100% sure I made it before root was established. Maybe it achieved root but the phone's os didn't show it, but recovery did? Who knows.

Just trying to help
