seem the app itself uses battery and other resources so it ends up using the battern to save battery, seems counter productive
 
I'm @ 280 like before. I tried the gapps fix but it boned my gapps. Looks like I need to do that fix again.

I've never touched the pixel density setting and still get the incompatible message for that app. So that's probably not the problem.

I think I found a hack for this issue that doesn't require the multi dpi zip.

So while in 280 dpi, I tried to go to the play store.
I then closed it and cleared data for the play store and play services.
I reset the dpi to 320 and rebooted.
When it booted up, I changed my dpi back to 280 and rebooted.
I opened the play store and voila! All apps were visible.

My guess is whatever dpi you access the app is what is stores. Since I connect to the store right after I set the dpi, it records the incompatible density.
 
So, I noticed with multiple camera apps (Same reason for stock bug?)....

If no "action" is mapped to the power button, it will reboot. If an "action" is mapped (IE: Take picture) it will perform the action and will not reboot.

I just rearranged the build tree to prep for official AOKP acceptance. And what do you know, the screen blanks now. No idea why, though, as there are tons of changes involved. But hey, I'll take it. :D

So, here it is: aokp_vs920_unofficial_Feb-25-13.zip md5=2fa0298054807ad187eea356cf486617

It's a more-or-less standard AOKP ROM with code synced from today (no multi-model stuff and no overclock) with the following changes:

* autowipe script (but don't rely on it, do a full wipe).
* backuptool/addon.d support from CM.
* DashClock is included as a system app.

I'm not putting it into a separate preview thread yet. I'll do that after I get some more commitment from RomanBB and remove the above changes (or get the above changes submitted to the AOKP tree).

Awesome. I've been looking forward to trying this. Doesn't aokp42 have some kind of pie navigation thingy? I saw it in one of the theme screenshots I use and I assumed it's from aokp42 because I know cm10.1 doesn't have the onscreen navigation button settings like aokp does.


Shouldn't take me long to download it either because my area got 4g today :]

I don't know .. I've never noticed such a thing. But give it a shot and let us know. ;)
 
So with the pending commitments of both the CM and AOKP team to add the VS920 as supported devices, it looks like my days as a VS920 dev are drawing to a close. I may or may not continue to make kernels, depending on demand -- we have a couple of kernel devs in the forum that can take my code and run with it.

It's been great fun. Undoubtedly the most fun and the most rewarding of my experiences with Android devices so far. :)

tdm you have really changed this dev community for the spec, and just made this phone awesome, i really hope you decide to come back to this spectrum community, thanks again youve done so much for this device, we wouldnt be anywhere without your awesome skills:D

Same here. I prefer aokp over cm. Looking forward to it.
 
AOKP42 is awesome. I can now finally use aokp over cm since it has the wifi tether toggle and it's just as smooth. Thanks for this tdm. Actually I think aokp42 might even be smoother than cm10.1 (except for the notification window which is slightly slower than cm10.1) So far it's been great. And I really like how they finally abandoned the unicorn and went with the simple nexus boot animation (not that it was hard to change) since that's my favorite animation anyway. This version is even more loaded with options than their previous version.

I cant find that lmt launcher in the play store az...does it not exist there? Perhaps I need to try google. I'm guessing it's on xda ^_^
