Help Did the phone update itself?

So, day before yesterday, I went to text a message and the keyboard has changed--the layout and shading are different. Does VM send updates and change this? Anyone else see this?

It's possible. Perhaps another VM user here will know and answer, but I'm also wondering if you've got more than one keyboard installed and have the wrong one set to default, or if you merely changed the configuration when in the menu for another purpose.

No the Optimus Elite hasn't had an update in a while. If you're using a third party keyboard it might have updated. You can go to settings > language & keyboard and change things there. It might have changed from the regular keyboard to the Swype keyboard or something.

Yes, I noticed this too, I had turned off the slide keyboard and on the android, I like it better and the sounds were back for keys used, I assumed it was an update..didn't notice any other changes though..I am a VM user. Hope this helps.
