Help Annotating Excel or PDF file

So I have the Note 10.1 Tablet. How can I open an Excel file and annotate with they stylus directly on that file? Is there any way? Do I have to save it as a .pdf and open it in S-note? I'd like to do it a little more freely if possible.

Any thoughts?

Man I want to come up with a specific answer for you... been searching around and not much (will continue).. but I did tap my "s-suggest" and allowed it to update (it's really just a store for s-pen related stuff), and did see a few apps in there that appeared to be related to your concern.

Have a look in there.. I'm hoping a Note 10 user will pop in with experience with that particular functionality. Meanwhile, I'll search on things such as "excel editing with s-note" etc.

this is easy to do IF your spreadsheet is in PDF format (of course, this means it will be non-editable as a spreadsheet).

  1. Save your spreadsheet as a PDF file
  2. Save in a cloud-based storage location, such as Dropbox
  3. Open S Note
  4. Click the Options (3 horizontal lines) in the upper right corner of the S Note window
  5. Choose Import > PDF
  6. Navigate to your PDF spreadsheet
  7. Click ONCE to select (do not long press or it will open in your PDF reader).
  8. Once the file is selected, click DONE in the upper right corner of the Dropbox (or cloud storage) window
  9. File will open in S Note, ready for annotation
Happens more quickly than it writes. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this when the file is in .xlsx format. It IS doable in PowerPoint, because PowerPoint has a pen tool built into slideshow mode, but AFAIK there is nothing similar in Excel.

Good luck! If anyone else has a solution, I'll be interested to read about it.

Seems weird that there is a "convert to pdf" function in Polaris ppt but no similar function in Polaris xl.

Yeah this was actually the best work-around I had found. I just save it as .pdf -> Dropbox -> Import to S-note (though I have to first take the .pdf in dropbox and move it to the local tablet memory).

At least this confirms what I was doing... :)

I may be wrong but I have sent excel docuents to my note and then when opened in polaris I can edit with both the s pen and the keyboard anyone else have no problems?

Ignore my remark it seems you wanted to insert graphs into spreadsheets and I have no advice as to how to do this sorry guys and or dolls

I believe that OP was asking about pen annotating, not pen pointing/editing. I assume OP meant things like drawing circles around a number, adding hand written comments, etc., like you might do if you were a teacher and grading papers by hand with a red pen, or something. Indeed, I haven't found a way to do this in excel, though I've looked hard. Could be that the only route is the Excel>PDF>upload to Note>open in pdf viewer>annotate, which is to say, doesn't really work.
