just an observance here...maybe just my paranoia
I was cruising the testman site and noticed the following:

When you search htc incredible you get a bunch of identical bluetooth devices.
When you browse the 3G smartphone area, i notice that the original storm has moved to the bottom of the selection page. A spot usually reserved for VZ's latest and greatest.

Just taking a stab here...maybe these are "placeholders" for the Inc & Inc accessories??

When making a sudden launch they need these slots already built in the system so they can just pull the trigger??

If somebody smarter than me could chime in?

I too have been cruising the testman site regularly and the Search for Incredible that results in a million bluetooth headsets has been that way for a while. Not sure about the placement of the storm. There are a few variants of the url and access levels which i have noticed.

Its actually $20.:D

And after I give you credit for referencing Touchdown too, you embarrass the hell out of me ;). If you weren't apang, I'd probably be mad.

....wait a minute! You're just trying to turn people off to Touchdown so you can pimp your app....OK, now I don't feel so bad, I'm just collateral damage in the app war. At least I went down for a good cause!

Noticed that a week or so ago when I tried. Something is up with it.

we thank you for the info you post just as anyone else, but this thread as posted by the mods is expected to be social and off topic at times. If you don't like it you don't have to read it and the Incredible spec sheet thread may be more your taste.

edit: for typo

This doesn't do anything for the all important timeline question BUT ....

If you try going to www.verizonwireless.com/incredible (idea taken from the KIN website), you are forwarded to: http://phones.verizonwireless.com/htc/incredible/

My guess is that this is THE website to check. It currently shows a "404 - File or directory not found" but I was forwarded to that page by VZW's own doing...

Do not think this means anything. Try adr6300, desire, legend, etc and you get the same thing.

Not exactly. The "phones" url will display the same 404 error page with the phone models you mentioned, however, the URL redirect is only valid for the Incredible. I was writing up this very same finding just as JBK posted his. I have a screencap of the URL redirect code, shown here:

(No, it isn't Shopped for anyone who might ask. Sheesh!) You can see it yourself if you put JBKs first URL and press STOP quickly enough before the redirect. Then view the source. I think it's another little nugget that VZW is preparing their site for the Incredible.

Nice find, JBK. :)

Typical Day at VZW IT department:

Bill: Morning Steve

Steve: Morning Bill

Steve: Bill, it's your turn to come up with something to screw with everyone on the android forums, don't fail on me.

Bill: Oh yes, I'm going to put up a URL for www.verizonwireless.com/incredible and have it direct to http://phones.verizonwireless.com/htc/incredible on our website. That will take some of the strain off of the testman site for a while while they all keep refreshing on that URL instead
:D

I have thought about this.. maybe it's just the KIN phones coming, and the rest is just a facade.

Try doing www.verizonwireless.com/droid or /storm and you'll get different pages. i think this may be a VERY good find.

someone probably already mentioned this, but it's not a bacon horse.... if i had to guess it would be a bacon AT-AT, whose metal counterparts lit up the screen in The Empire Strikes Back.

I love bacon.

In a kinda on topic response to all the 720p questions, there is a video that's been floating around the net for a while, maybe since MWC, that has an HTC rep demoing Sense on a (Desire maybe) that can be heard answering the same question to the effect that the hardware is capable but the feature would not be immediately available. if i can find the video i'll relink it. it's in this forum somewhere.

I couldn't find the video in the forum, but here's a link:

YouTube - HTC Desire MWC 2010

it is from MWC and is a demo of the desire.

at around 3:20 the rep confirms that there was info leaked re: 720p, xvid support etc. but that currently the phone did not have the features. he does go on to say that the abilities may be released in updates.

then at approx. 5:30 he is asked what the max resolution of the video capture is and he answers 'vga - at the moment.'

i know it's the desire, but it could lend credence to the guess that the hardware of the incredible is (more than) capable of 720p capture, even if it won't initially be available.

Hi All, I am just joining this Forum, and this Thread....

I have a quick question. I am a current blacberry user and looking to switch to Android OS w this supposedly "Incredible" phone. (Does anything ever live up to the hype?)

My biggest worries are syncing with my corporate email, contacts, and calendar. I see Email and Contact support for exchange in the spec sheet, but nothing in regards to the calendar.

Please help me understand what I can expect here. Business is my #1 use of phone, but real excited about severing ties with BB.

Regards,

The incredible will sync with Exchange contacts, mail and calendar. No need for third party software like the N1 does.

LMAO...My HEART just stopped temporarily...

As I'm reading this forum, Just got an email on my Storm (exchanging for the Incredible :)) that said - " An "INCREDIBLE" Deal on our"...end of screen.

Opened it up and it was a stupid ad from HP...anyway, just thought I would share...amazing how the anxiety courses through the veins sometimes :)
Got the same email on my storm too (storm 1 not storm 2) and did the same thing lol

Bill and Steve from VZW IT department again.

I may be really asking for it with this post, but here goes.....:D

I have yet to see any real evidence as to what Verizon uses Testman for, but can anyone find an equivalent redirect setup on the testman site? I tried a couple of url's, but could not make anything work. Just a thought.

EDIT: Looks like scott5626 beat me to it!

The guy's voice in this video reminds me of Sean Connery.

Remember when i said over the last few days to stay tuned for updates/upgrades to our favorite site/forum??? The buttons are just the beginning.

There is more exciting stuff planned very soon that will make this forum/site unique and everyone preferred place for all their Android needs.

I wonder if the button updates to the forums messed up the white right margin on the top and bottom of the page...
