yep...i added on to my post that you lose the push functionality but I think most people will be happy with what they get from exchange out of the box. I looked at touchdown (think I may have actually first heard about it on your site) and it looks great...cant wait to get my hands on this device to start trying out and learning a whole new way of life.

I read somewhere that either exchange is different on Sense UI or maybe just the updated Android 2.1 made changes. Happy to learn more about this so I can be running full speed on day one with my incredible

Agreed. I didn't want to sound like i was digging into where the leak came from I was just commenting on someone's post and then justified my reasoning to another poster.

I will refrain from doing that from now on. Just keep the leaks coming ;) :D

First of all, let me get the obligatory "thank you" out of the way. You have created and guided along quite an interesting community. It has touched the lives (for better or for worse) of MANY people.

I've been participating in on-line communities since the early 90's (started using IRC since before Netscape was a wet dream). I think you have done a great job of leading by example and refraining from the ripping into people and graciously nibbling on some pride now and then. That helps keep this particular thread a welcoming place.

Since you have the ear of some Mods/Admin you might mention to them that they can and should participate as they desire. More leadership by example is a good thing.

I wasn't here yesterday (had exams) so hopefully someone can tell me... Did Verizon show the "6 new phones" that are coming that was advertised in that email to employees? What happened with that? Did it turn out to be fake?

If you notice: go to verizonwireless.com/incredible

It'll say file or directory not found, HOWEVER, look up at the site address again and it changes to verizonwireless.com/HTC/incredible

Seems to be that they're working on the site? Just obviously not up yet... why else would HTC show up in there?

I was cruising the testman site and noticed the following:

When you search htc incredible you get a bunch of identical bluetooth devices.
When you browse the 3G smartphone area, i notice that the original storm has moved to the bottom of the selection page. A spot usually reserved for VZ's latest and greatest.

Just taking a stab here...maybe these are "placeholders" for the Inc & Inc accessories??

When making a sudden launch they need these slots already built in the system so they can just pull the trigger??

I don't know if anyone checked this already but if you look into the headset it has "incredible audio." If you search for just "Incredible" you'll get 185 of the same device. With HTC in front you'll get 7 and only HTC phones.

I still can't believe we haven't seen a pic of this thing yet even of the dummy phones ( I know we have the old ones)...I'm also looking forward to seeing what the ad campaign is going to look like. I remember a few weeks ago someone said they were shooting the commercial for it. Are we thinking its going to be along the the lines of the Droid does or the HTC you campaigns

As you know I am new to android. Did not know about the SENSE UI thing.

The reason we are switching is because we do not use the BES to its full potential (not do we need to). So far we are happy with the Android OS.

As far as the native exchange app on Android. I do not know that much about it. But I do know that Touchdown can do more that the Native App. I.e. sync folders, tasks and more. So if your okay with emails that are not PUSH and do not need more features, then I am sure native is fine.

As far as the data plan it could be just a mix up. But even the sales rep at VZW (okay I'll stop right there) said to use TD to avoid the corporate charge for data.

They should do something like, "Incredible things happen everyday" and show crazy incredible stuff and tie the phone into it somehow. That'd be cool. Something that really grabs your attention.

NOT some tool saying droid does :cool:

I'm with you on this...and i'm hoping to change that (no pics thing) as soon as possible. But i do think this speaks to just how big and special this phone is going to be for Verizon...i think they're going to great lenghts with this phone and it would be naive for us to think they're unaware of this thread and benefits to letting something stay "viral" as long as possible.

Consider the alternative for a second... we get all official specs, pics, and videos today...we talk for 5 more pages and then it's basically crickets.

With what we have here, which is as viral as it gets, we'll be talking about this thing and theorizing until our faces turn blue...and well beyond.

Verizon knows what it's doing.
