Help Bad standby time?

It seems like after 10-15 minutes my Optimus G has already used 2% battery. When I had an iPhone 3GS, it could go the entire night and only drop 5%. I'm thinking the culprit may be the Pinger textfree app I'm using, as whenever I'm using it, the battery drops a lot. I've got the usual stuff turned off, so I don't know what's up.

Go to settings>about phone>battery>battery use. You will see android OS and screen at the top. These are usual suspects. What else do you see right below that?

It is ideal with android to optimize the task killer app that this phone has come with. You can either use the widget or long press home key and click stop all once prompted.

I see:

Android OS: 46%
Voice calls: 27% (this barely uses battery from my experience)
Screen: 17%
Android System: 5%
Wi-fi: 3%
Phone Idle: 2%
Phone: 2%

I constantly do the long press home key thing to stop apps I am not using, so I am not sure. I've noticed that if I just unplug it from a full charge, it'll drop from 100% to 98 after just a little bit of time. Not sure why. I keep brightness at 30% and always have eco mode on too. I also took the AT&T bloatware off.

So what is a short amount of time for you? I see nothing abnormal in your battery usage.

How long will a full charge for you last with moderate to heavy usage? Also do you have good service where you are? If its constantly searching that'll drain it.

But usually where your voice calls are at 27% that's where my screen is. That very well may be your battery hog.

Maybe I am just used to iPhone standby time. What is the difference between Phone and Voice Calls on the battery use thing though? Also, I've noticed that the Pinger app has really been sucking data in the background (42mb in a couple weeks) even though it's supposed to just be texts.

It collects your data and sends it to their servers for a backup would be my best guess.

What do you mean difference between phone and voice calls? Voice calls are when you dial out and not over the internet and talk to people. Can you elaborate on the rest?

I'm sorry you're having difficulties adjusting. I'll do my best to help all I can.

My bad, misread what it said. I can't complain too much about the battery. By the end of the day I usually have a good 20-30% left after moderate internet use, texting, etc. I keep it on eco mode and about 30-40% screen brightness though. I am considering exchanging it for the Galaxy S3, only for the replaceable battery option, unless you know of an extended battery available.

Dont go to s3, the lg is by far more superior of a phone. There is nothing wrong with the s3, its just that the lg runs better, a lot faster, screen is nicer, build quality, reception, I can keep going. But I have used both and found nothing wrong with the s3, I switched because I have a phone addiction and read good reviews on the lg, so I purchased it,and wow, I couldn't believe the difference in the two. I actually sold the lg to get the iPhone 5. Used the iPhone for two weeks and came back to the lg, luckily I found someone on Craig's list who was looking to trade.

The battery life hasn't improved at all. Leaving the phone on overnight, it went from 40% to dead. That's just pathetic. iPhones would have only dropped 5%. I'm not sure what's up here, but something needs to be done. Actual usage is bad also. I don't get it -- the phone is in eco mode, brightness is at 25%, I kill off apps I don't use, etc. Why is battery life bad?

Ended up returning it and getting a Galaxy S3. So much nicer in my opinion because of the removable battery and Jelly Bean. And I know 4.2.2 is guaranteed for the S3. The Optimus was pretty slick though.
