Also, you can log onto the website listed in the information that comes with the card and have the full balance of the card transferred direct to your checking account. I did this in September of last year for my husband's BlackBerry.

Rebate cards from "regular" Verizon do not work the same way, this is just for Verizon Wireless cards. I got on from "regular" Verizon when I signed up for FIOS. I'll be using it to purchase my Incredible :)

I am a cashier at a Vons/Safeway. For some reason these stupid rebate cards don't always work as they should(automatically charge the exact balance). If that happens and your card is rejected, ask the cashier to manually charge your balance to the card. You can also ask the cashier to check the balance of the card to make sure you have enough left to cover the balance.

Its weird that that only happens with the rebate cards and not "gift card" credit cards but that's what I have found.(we have the crappiest check-stands in the world but that's our problem most of the time:mad:)

Alternately, you could always buy your Incredible at Best Buy and bypass the rebate.

this phone is starting to eat away at me, I'm not even sure I want it anymore...just kidding

to quote tom petty, "the waiting is the hardest part"

FYI LADIES

I've made an AndroidGals social group if any of you are interested :)

http://androidforums.com/groups/android-gals.html

Saw a number of "I'm a girl too!" posts today so just figured I'd throw this out there!

No doubt Steven will be trolling that group. lol

I don't get what you mean that you don't get notification. I get an email almost immediately saying there's voicemail and of course the sad attempt at recognition.
just meaning that on my phone get a text notification that pretty much clues you in that you can go retrieve your voicemail.

Keep in mind, though, I' haven't set this up for GV email notifications on my phone yet. My phone would be a pain in the ass to do that with. I would have to wait for something higher end. Like the Incredible

We know he'll be at Disneyland and we know when! :D

Well, I'll be spending one day @ DisneyLand for fun.... I'm a big disney world freak and Disney land is "eh" comparitivly... so you have to guess which day I'll be there (I don't even know) and jump me then. :)

That being said, can I have people that call my number automatically go to my GV Voicemail if I don't pick-up?

This is how I have it setup now. I do have a GV number, I just do not use it currently.

Otherwise I am hoping having a native GV app on the Incredible will make the account usage a more seamless experience than I currently have.

I don't see myself using headphones with it much, thereby nullifying the FM experience. :(

I plan on using The FM Tuner at the gym while on the treadmill or cross trainer to watch the tv's. One lees device I have to carry. But other than that I agree that it isn't that useful for me.

Good news everyone, the Incredible is now in Costco's inventory database. Ive been checking for it for the past couple of weeks so imagine my surprise when today i saw these:

Before anyone asks, i have no idea why it says T-mobile or why the price says 199.99. All i know is this item wasnt listed yesterday and it is today.

oh ya I totally agree with you...I'm from southern CA but have family near Orlando - Disney World is AWESOME! but unless you've been there you think Disneyland is awesome too

I never thought about using it at the gym.... On second thought, I will :) Thank you.

Now in retaliation is Steven going to restart the He-man woman haters club he was a part of as a youth?

Were getting closer! As more and more Verizon kiosks and retailers get it, just makes more sense that we getting closer to that release date.

the options are endless, but what I've learned thus far is:

it's better to go the whole nine yards and get the google number, not just the voicemail.

You do link up your cell phone number to the google voice mail, so GV manages it from here on out.

With each voicemail that is left (once you have the Google number)

1) it leaves a text transcription on your phone (which hasn't been very accurate for me- but as Keebler pointed out, this is optional)

2) it leaves a voicemail on your phone (which you need to program your GV to speedial to go in and retrieve- like we mentioned earlier- no voicemail notification through your cell phone carrier)

3) it leaves a copy of the voicemail in both your gmail AND your google voice account on your computer (where once again you can read the inaccurate transcription- or listen to the voicemail over your computer

4) In both the Gmail and the GV account you can then respond to these messages either by text or email, or originate text messages (SMS) to the contact of your choosing- thereby making the paid text service of Verizon unnecessary.

I'm sure there's more that I've left out that someone can either add to or refute...

Actually, if you don't get a GV number, you tsill get all those features besides the SMS ability. My younger brother has been using GV for a while now, and he is still hoping he can get a GV number with the area code he wants (currently that area code has no GV numbers).
if you are trying to get rid of your texting plan, than get a GV number, you will also get some other fun features as well:)

Btw, first time poster! thanks for all the information for the last month, helped me stay away from buying the droid or waiting for the nexus one! Bring on the Incredible!!!:):D

can we please stay on topic? This is called the HTC incredible thread. Other than you and the person you are talking to, nobody cares about disney world.

Same goes to the people talking about other misc. crap like guns, Google Voice, etc. Go away or use the Private Messaging system. You are the reason this thread sucks.

I really hope it materializes on VZ on or b4 the 29th... as it is I can upgrade tomorrow from the piece of junk centro I have and I can't wait... if nothing by beginning of May I may have to jump ship and settle for a Droid... IDK though...

my absolute drop dead on the incredible is NFL preseason. That new app may be my only link to the Ravens a good chunk of the time up here in Philly...

As for an earlier comment about the Red Sox getting division rings today... the Phightin Phils get their NLCS rings Thursday.
