Hi guys. So I'm an american living in china as a teacher. I bought the international s2 online from korea. its the s2 lte. I had an old samsung captivate that i had rooted and i wanted to root this one as well so i could get access to certain things i like. well i messed up. i used the wrong firmware and hard bricked it. yes i'm kinda a n00b and i messed up, i know. i took it to a samsung shop here and i asked them to replace it. they refused since it was made in korea and bought online. is there anything i can do to fix it? or maybe get data off it? also i've read online about being able to send it to companies to fix it. what are some good reputable shops if all else fails and i need to send it in?
Thanks

That can happen. Samsung China might not want to touch it, given that it's the Korean version. If it was something simple like a broken screen they probably would fix it. Samsung in China tends to operate somewhat independantly of Samsung Korea, and often Samsung phones in China are specific Chinese versions. They may not even have access to the correct software to restore your phone. Do you know of anyone in Korea that could help you? If you bricked it from flashing the wrong software, that's voided the warranty. Many China Mobile dealers can do repairs, but it's usually physical faults where people have dropped them etc. And they normally only handle Chinese phones.

BTW I'm an Englishman living China as a teacher.

Hello

You are in the wrong forum so wait for a mod to move your post, meanwhile can you boot into recovery/download, im not sure flashing the wrong firmware can hardbrick your phone unless you mean flashing a kernel

If you can get into recovery wipe cache and do a data /factory reset, if that fails try download mode

If you can get into download mode you can just reflash the correct firmware again

Regards

Sure this is the correct forum OK. South Korea and China can be considered rather "international", as per this particular "Galaxy S2" forum.
