Root [ROM] Negalite-Blurom | 2.95.651.5 | Virgin-Mobile/Sprint | Sense/Apex/Nova | Aroma | 08-10-2013

I just made a zip file for R40, but I did it on my laptop instead of my desktop.

It named it

negalite-blurom_rEC

instead of

nagalite-blurom_r40

I am going to flash it anyway, and I've made a backup already.

EDIT:

The zip flashed fine. I am just troubled by the naming of the zip. I'll have to rename them to keep order if this continues.

BTW, what was the theme change in r40? Was it the blue text under settings? I haven't explored any further yet.

hmmm. you have the latest java? I assume tortoise svn is installed on your computer as well?

When I run tortoise on my PC, it's on XP. When on the laptop, it's Vista.
I upgraded my Java on the PC to the latest version, and the signature thing that runs at the end of the zip creation still fails. On my laptop, which I can't confirm as being on the latest version, succeeds at the signature step in the zip creation...but it doesn't name the zip files properly.

I'll try confirming the Java version on the laptop when I get a moment. The fact that it signs the zip files is good, but the fact that it doesn't name them properly is a minor inconvenience.

Any ideas for the desktop? I may need to reboot it when I get home.

yes, try installing java jdk. the signing process is in java

I just installed today loving the look but now my background does not show up its all black. Can't recall if it was always black from start since i was busy checking everything out. Also irk if its my battery it seems to be draining faster then it use too.

Just got the ROM installed using 4ext and it couldn't have been easier and the ROM seems to be really nice. One thing I could request would be to post the MD5 checksum in the first post. Thanks again!

Do you have Kernel Tuner setup for hotplugging? This is where the second core sleeps until a threshold is reached, and then it kicks in. If you have both cores on all the time, it will eat up some battery.

Using LeeDroid tweaks...Go into STATUS BAR -> CARRIER LABEL -> CARRIER SECOND LABEL then choose CPU frequency.

Now, when you pull down on the status bar, each core should display the current frequency. Open up accu-weather, then click on the animation to make it full screen. Now pull down on the status bar, and close it, open/close it like 5 times, then check the frequencies.

Are you seeing this most of the time:

C0: 384Mgz, C1: offline

Which governor are you using?

I had both cores on it seems so i turned one off by the button in the menu. 2nd i do not have accu weather under widgets but with the pull down status bar im reading core1-432 mgz with some flucs to 1300s. core2-running the same but jumps more frequent then core 1.

also no backround image and when i try to add one it still stays black. and governor xondemand both cores and numbers are from top to bottom

sampleing rate min- 10000
sampling rate-20000
up threshold- 35
down differtial- 15
sampling down factor-1
ignore nice load-1
powersave bias-0
io is busy-0
two phase freq-1350000

As far as accuweather...I told you to run that just so there was an animation taking up processor bandwidth at all times...you don't have to run it in the background. I usually launch it by clicking on the Sun/Moon/Cloud icon on the main HTC clock widget.

I am not 100% sure what the implications are of turning off the second core using that button. I don't recall if it turns it off permanently, or it establishes hotplugging.

While that core is "off" see if you can create enough activity to force the second core to activate. If it activates...then you know that core isn't switched off permanently. If you stream music over bluetooth while running accuweather, and then opening and closing the status bar repeatedly, I can almost assure you that the second core will kick in at some point...unless it's been disabled.

EDIT:

Also, if you want, under CPU Tweaks in Kernel Tuner, you can lower the min cpu to 384 which will help a tad with battery. What's your max set to?

max is set to 1566 both this is the basic setting have not touched all that since it was installed

core 0 was active just core 1 said offline just a second ago and i started pandora and then it kicked on and started fluctuating. waiting now to see if it turns back off

under mpdecision i found a setting to make only 1 core work while screen was off guess that would help aswell

OK. Running on one core will save battery, but you may sacrifice performance to do so...especially if the second core NEVER kicks in. If you want to dig into Kernel Tuner some more, post in a Kernel Tuner thread...there are several of them here. We can leave this thread to more specific BluROM topics.

Also, with a KT thread, you may get people who wouldn't normally go into this thread as it's ROM specific...and those people may have more insight than I do on the inner-working of Kernel Tuner.

I can say this...BluROM seems to be well integrated with Kernel Tuner. It seems everything I do in Kernel Tuner gives the message "Kernel Tuner has been granted SuperUser permission" whereas on other ROMs, I don't get that message as often.

If you put in a setting for Kernel Tuner, and you don't get that message, your setting may, or may not stick. I've had better luck with changes sticking when I see that message right after I make the change.

yeah ill try my luck reading and postng over in a tuner section didnt mean to go this far off topic. so ill go back to my other issue where my screen is all black no backround image will stay on

What is the procedure you are using to select the wallpaper, and what messages do you get when you've completed it?

just going into wall papers where it shows me a few that came with the rom and when i hit preview it shows me how it looks then apply. nothing after that not getting any errors

Since this rom is getting so much fanfare I figured I would give it a go. On the plus side I like the 3D splash screens and the responsiveness of this rom. On the negative I do not care for the default theme, keyboard, and hinge animation. The phone also runs a bit hot with this rom. I found that when restoring contacts, apps, and settings with titanium back up, somethings did not work (e.g. contacts, MMS messages, home screen layout), which is kind of annoying.

There are options in the 2nd post to change theming.

I'm slowly bringing things down, so it should run cooler as releases show up.

MMS does indeed work.

As for backups. Doing a backup through recovery has a better success rate than titanium backup

Cooler ?
Is that a function of voltage?

Thanks for the reply. I was in the process of flashing the default theme while I made the post. Things are now are a bit more to my liking. I was having a similar thermal issue when I had kernel tuner installed on Unlocked Potential HD w Anthrax 3.7.0. Uninstalling the app seemed to rectify the issue. I may try uninstalling the tuner and see what happens. I noticed that using the default theme hurts my AnTuTu benchmark score a good bit It went from 8798 to 7505.

Whoa Nelly.

I am creating the zip for R43 right now, but I feel that I may wake up to R44 or 45 :D

I am particularly interested in R41. I should be running it in about 10 minutes.

I switched back to harmonia for the time being. I'll try the next release, the toasty phone was a little disconcerting. Is there a way to switch the keyboard back to the default one?

Yeah I have alot of downloads here: just look around

NegaLite - [http://negamann303.hotrocksinya.com/]

by the way, I just played simpsons tapped out for 3 hours straight and not a thing was to be worried about, sure it got warm, but it never failed me.(btw don't judge the game, I'm in competition with my wife)

I'm on r34 right now. The WiFi symbol is low resolution of something. It isn't as sharp looking as other status bar elements. Also the red no service is kind of weird concidering having a completely blue ROM. And I have no signal at home so it looks really odd all the time like it is for me. I found some green if you wanted to know about it. When you use the stock keyboard and type in a few letters, the suggestions box has green backgrounds behind every word. Keep up the work tho. I love the performance and options. :] Works great with Anthrax 3.7.0
