Alright guys I have had a look about and some of these threads are pretty old like. I was wondering what the best and most stable rom os for the desire bravo. I have the oxygen to on now and its keep crashing and my apps arnt working properly soon I have been advised to change Roms any ideas are greatly appriciated thanks.

Oxygen is one of the ROMs I would have recommended first. Before you flash something else I would suggest you wipe cache and dalvik cache from recovery.

If that doesn't help reflash the ROM without a wipe. As a last resort you could do a factory reset.

I have tried all of that and the problem is solved but then if my phone turns off or runs out of battery then I have the same problem again. So I was going to try a different rom and see if I could get some where with that?

Well in that case dGB is very fast & stable but doesn't support apps2sd on an ext partition. It's a good option with a custom hboot though.

Otherwise one of Mildwild's ROMs would be worth a try. Perhaps the one based on Redux2. All of his ROMs get good reviews. I haven't tried them myself but the original Redux2 was excellent.

Saying dGB doesn't support apps2sd is disingenuous (and wrong). It supports standard Android apps2sd but it doesn't support apps2sd+ (I realise you did say on an ext partition, which implies the +). The reason it doesn't support it is that it doesn't need to. The ROM is so small you get LOADS of space and can still stick data portions of big apps on the SD card - you do have to use a custom HBOOT to get that, though.

I've been using it for a long while now and I can't remember the last time my phone crashed. Highly recommended but do understand it's cut-down and you will have to install a shed-load of apps to get your phone up to spec, the great thing is that you get to choose which apps as they're not in the ROM.

You are quite right of course. However when people ask for apps2sd they normally mean the plus version which is why I qualified it with the ext partition. I am sorry if I caused confusion.

I have also used dGB extensively & would highly recommend it to anyone who uses custom hboots. However if you have a stock partition table you will lose space as apps that are often included in ROMs will need to be installed on the data partition.

What I'm saying is its an excellent if somewhat specialised ROM.

Hey there,
I decided to answer this question, even though it's some time ago anyone posted here.

For more than a year now, I've been using dGB-mod, but this morning, I decided I wanted some better looks for my good ol' Desire, so installed several Android 4.x ROMS. However, some were really slow and others crashed really soon after I installed them.

At this very moment, I am re-installing dGB-mod with Android 2.3.3.

The reason for this is that I've never had a single crash with it and have plenty of space as well. I created an EXT2-partition and installed Link2SD, which allows you to move individual apps to the external partition.

If you want a ROM that has reasonably nice looks and lightning speed + loads of space, go with dGB!
