Alternatives to Slimport

I'm a bit disappointed the phone doesn't come with a HDMI out port(mini of course ) . Anyway, what are my alternatives to buying a SlimPort hdmi adapter .

Slimport was pretty disappointing for me on 4.2.1, I used it for streaming movies from my NAS but I noticed a drop in frame rate with the adapter connected. Not sure if that was fixed in 4.2.2 I ended up buying a smart TV so I don't use it anymore.

The one thing Im interested in is watching google movies, downloaded from the play store, on my TV.

My options so far are slimport/ miracast or a google TV box. Not sure what to do :S

Miracast is a wireless technology so as long as your N4 is in wireless range you can put it anywhere you want (presumably by your armchair). Slimport requires a cable so you either have to put the N4 next to the TV or trail an HDMI cable across the floor.

I get the impression Miracast is still at the "early adopters" phase. Googling for Miracast reviews doesn't find much. I'd worry that using Miracast for video will hit the battery pretty hard.

To be honest, if you are going to watch films regularly I'd look for an Android set top box. I bought a Slimport mainly so I can play the occasional film when at friend's houses, but I don't think it's a good solution for frequent use.
