Help WiFi problem

Hello all,

I have had my GN2 for a week now and have been impressed by what this device can do. However, the wifi card sucks. As I sit in my room, which I admit is quite a distance from the router, I get little to no signal. In contrast, my iPad 3 gets almost full bars. I can sit 10 feet from the router and get half bars and have buffer issues on the GN 2:confused: That's not really a deal breaker for me since I prefer using my iPad while in my room. To add insult to injury, I live in the DC metro area and Sprint is still not running 4g LTE. If anyone has any suggestions about this please chime in.

As a side note I will be doing the reset to see if I can get better battery usage. Compared to the battery my GS 3, the GN 2 is ok. The GN 2 only had 4.1.1 running for a couple hours before 4.1.2 was available for download.

Hello Murray. The first thing I'd do, living in an area with a lot of wifi signals vying for elbow room, is experiment with different channels on the home router. ;)

Resetting the router, via a little pin hole or button or just unplugging it, can sometimes wash out weak signal issues, too. But I do suspect the crowded channel issue more than anything else.

If you install WiFi Analyzer it will show you on a chart which channels are occupied so you can adjust your router to avoid them.

Thanks for the suggestions but I think it's the device. My S3 wasn't much better. I ran a speed analyzer and my tested download speed vs reality is quite different. I wonder if HTC will make something comparable to the Note 2.
