AGREED!!!!

<---- fellow Dare owner

Two people in my office just recently picked up the Droid. I'm hoping to make them regret it when the Inc comes out. Sorry but the Droid looks like a piece of luggage to me.

It was a really heavy phone! Plus.... I got tired of saying...."Can you hear me now?" The os was great.... the browser speed was fabulous... at least compared to the tour.... but I really NEED a phone...and that was one of the worst ones I have EVER had. I am hoping I can have it all with the Incredible.

If I have a gmail and a yahoo account, I can only get gmail to "push" email to me, right? So which account should I set up with the Sense UI widget? I was hoping to consolidate the 2 accounts and just have all my yahoo mail forwarded to gmail to take advantage of the push.

All my email accounts "push" to me. I don't have to manually sync my email accounts.

Been following this thread for a couple weeks. First off, I want to thank everyone for the input and secret covert-op ninja tactics being used to acquire all the info thus far and share it with me :)

And I also have a question: my NE2 isn't up until July, but Verizon offered me that promotion where since I have a stupid phone (dare), i can upgrade to a smartphone with discounted pricing if it is before the end of the month. So would i get the NE2 discount? (hopefully 200 for the incredible?)... and also, can i use this promotion at BB or online? (because the promotion ends at the end of the month and i'm scared local verizon stores won't have enough in stock for me).

Thanks!

so i was one of the poor saps who got suckered into the lg dare also :( I have never owned a smart phone before really excited to get this phone when it comes out, and by the way that fade to black cover was bad ass!!! even though i dont like plastic covers

Things to get in order of importance (guessing on prices):

1. Phone (200)
2. Screen protector (10)
3. Memory card (60)
4. Headphones with mic (100)
5. Extended battery + extended back covering (80)
5. Car mount (50)
6. Case (20)
7. New cover (20)
8. Dinner at one of these well-advertised Macaroni Grills (20) :D

Dude, you sure the extended battery requires an extended back cover as well? I was under the impression the battery maintains OEM form factor, and one could use the stock battery cover with the extended battery. Not adding any extra thickness to the phone. After all, there 'entire' back plate comes off which covers the battery. I think the battery containment area is the largest on any HTC device to date. I'm hoping this is the case, and I don't have to use some custom, extended thickness battery cover.

I have 3 different Gmail accounts... will I be able to have each of those separately on this phone?

(I know, 3 Gmail accounts seems excessive... but 2 are for businesses and 1 is personal.)

Usually, the only extended batteries that can use the stock cover are from 3rd parties (and these will never be sold in Verizon stores or their web site), and are usually about 200mAh higher in capacity, while true extended batteries that need a bigger battery cover can give you much longer battery life.

I remember when the Dare came out... remember the commercials? That thing was the hottest phone out there...... I got it.... and it was not long before I developed a love hate relationship with it. By the time I got rid of it I hated it. But after using the tour for the past month+..... I am starting to think the dare was not so bad after all......

And back on topic.... I hope that is not the way it will go with the Incredible.... I would never want to hate it. We have built this thing up to be such an awesome piece of equipment.... I hope it can live up to it's name.

If your NE2 is due in June, you're eligible now for the upgrade at whatever new promo rate they have, but you would not get your NE2 and that clock starts over again, AND there is a 25 upgrade charge. Assuming your VOICE plan (NOT INCLUDING DATA) is OVER 40 bucks an month, you can get an upgrade every year at the 'new' contract price (plus the aforementioned $25)

All my email accounts "push" to me. I don't have to manually sync my email accounts.

I was under the impression that with Android 2.1 (and previous versions) that only Gmail pushed while others (such as Yahoo) needed to be pulled from the server in intervals (e.g. every 15 minutes). Is this incorrect?

phone will come out for verizon on the 29th, and announced the monday of that week 100 percent certain :) well 100 percent certain about the release im guessing the monday announcement

WOW! This chat rep is a PRICK. I didn't even ask about the Incredible and this dude is being an ass!

You should just straight up tell him that you'll wait for a sec while he pulls that giant stick outta his...... errrrrrr...... left armpit (yeah, that's the ticket). :p

Man I remember when the Dare was the hot $hit when it came out. I was so excited to get it. It's honestly served me quite well for almost a full 2 years. Granted its limited in its abilities, it has served its purpose quite well.

I just wonder what it will be like in 2more years and I'm saying on some forum..."god Ive had this incredible for 2 years Im so stuck in the past with this thing" Ha I can't even imagine it...it just seems like it will never happen.....but it will.....its inevitable.

Yes, you can have all 3 gmail accounts on your phone. One of them (the personal account?) will be needed to register and setup your phone with. This account will have the Android Market tied to it and is managed by the Gmail application.

I guess the other 2 accounts can also be managed by the Gmail application, but I recommend setting them up using the HTC mail application. It's real easy to switch between accounts and the HTC mail application displays embedded HTML.

In the HTC mail application, switch between accounts just tap the arrow beside the Account Name and select the account you want to switch to.

I have a question for you folks in the know on how VZW works. My DH and I are on a family plan. My line is the primary line and is eligible for my NE2. His was activated last June w/o contract because it was a phone we had purchased outright off of ebay. Anyway, he's been eligible for an "upgrade at a discounted price" according to VZW pretty much since we activated the phone. I had always assumed it was a "NE2" because that's how it was worded. And when I used that Best Buy upgrade checker that was posted on here yesterday or the day before, it showed that both lines were eligible for an upgrade and discount. So my question is, what discount amount would normally be available on a second line? I've heard several folks say that you don't get two NE2's so what does the second line get?

Thanks in advance!

On a fam plan, only the primary line gets NE2- he's eligible to upgrade because he's not under contract.
